Hello guys.
I bought 5800xm last week after days of confusion (whether to buy this or Samsung Jet/Omnialite; finally decided to get this one). So far phone has been fantastic. I have already upgraded to v50. No hanging/freezing. Touchscreen is not very responsive to fingers (but this is true for all resistive touch screens!) although Stylus and "nails" response is very fast.
It obtains GPS connection pretty fast; have already done bit of navigation and it was perfect. Wifi is fast and cool. I'm not a music fan so wont' comment on that part. Camera, well, for me 3.2mp is good enough for sharing on net and posting on facebook so dont need more.
Initially, I was bit concerned about the black/gray UI of s/w (buttons, Qwerty keyboard etc), but later I installed a cool theme so now I have a wonderful UI and touch buttons.. So far I am luving this phone.

This phone built like a tank, in the past year, I dropped in water, thought it was dead, then 1-week later, working again. Also, I accidentally bricked it, trying to upgrade w/ a false product code, and somehow got it to work again using Phoenix. Now with v5 firmware, it's like a Swiss girl, a little fat, but does everything.

all d previous complaints are not true..., i think those stuffs dunno how 2 use mobile or else that particular handst might be a faulty piece., in my view 5800xm is a very good phone., its works very well since 2 yrs

I bought this phone in March last year, and ever since I have had endless problems with it.
It wouldn't charge, the camera wouldn't work, wouldn't send text messages, kept freezing, continually needed software upgrades.. The list goes on and on and on and on...
I've had it taken in for repair about 15 times since March last year, and I've had it replaced about 7 times.
Overall, I liked the phone to start with, but after all the problems I've had with it I cannot stand it. I've resorted to using my old phone.

Suddenly message alerts have stopped on my phone. Even though i receive a message, am not notified about it.
What should i do?

it is very responsive..even slightest touch get registered..
x6 is better...
U.I of 5800 is very poor..

I bought Nokia 5800 a few days ago and now I am trying to learn how it works. I had Nokia 3110 classic before, which I think has much better menus and shortcuts and is user friendlier.
Can anybody help me please with the following difficulties I have?
1. Trying to organise the menus I moved a shortcut from the applications menu to the main menu and then I suprisingly found that it had taken the place of the settings shortcut which disappeared from the main menu. I moved back the other shortcut and then its place was left empty.
Where can I find and how can I restore the settings icon?
2.Can I change the order of the shortcuts in the menus?
3. The main menu holds only up to 12 shortcuts?
4. Can Opera Mini work with wap-gpr connection and how?

My 5800 screen cracked. Costs about 1/4 of what i paid for it to get it fixed. Told by repairer they are very delicate phones and it was a common complaint. Before this happened phone would also hang quite often. Battery power not good.

CPAdik, 16 Jun 2010i'm planning to buy a new phone but i cannot decide wether... morenokia 5800 xpressmusic if far morew better than samsung star wifi. 5800 have flash while star wifi don't. 5800 comes with 8gb card while star wifi don't. i almost bought samsung star wifi but i chose to purchase 5530 instead. nokia xpressmusic series are better than any of samsung star series. just my opinion, hope it helps you to decide what to buy.
