multimedia wise this phone is excellent!!! connectivity is also a big plus to this phone. th only drawback i feel is typing using the on screen keyboard. but then again this is only my opinion as this is my first touchscreen/xpressmusic/wifi enabled/gps enabled phone!!!! so alot of "getting used to" to be done. but i think i will get used to this awesome smartphone.

Hi everybody. my GF has a 5800XM and the call log dont show up means that we cant view missed dialed or received calls and the sms notifications dont show up either we need to simulate an sms to see them. Can someone please tell me what to do?

I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.
I bought it a year ago and had nothing but trouble with it.
First internet browser broke down -> repair
Then I noticed that the phone is not operating if it's colder than 0° - it just shuts down and there is nothing you can do to turn it on -> no mobile connection while skiing
It also sometimes restarts itself if it feels like it - whether I am working with it at the moment or not -> unnerving, but not crucial
And now I am having troubles with the display and bluetooth is not working either -> looking for a new phone right now...
I also heard it is one of the models with the most malfunctions reported...

I suggest you should go for Nokia 5800 Xpres music mobile set.It is worth having one like this.

I've had this phone for 4 months and the time is always slowing down by a few minutes every week. Every time i reset the clock, it slows down again a few days later.

I love dis fone so cool. The nokia 5800 owns nokia 5230 and 5233. If only you could scroll down the music list freely instead of using the side thing. Overall I would give dis fone 10/10. On another note, how much is the nokia n97mini? TANK YOU

i own thisXM5800 mobile for some few months now,nd i lov this cell vry much, the most excellent part of it, is its stereo speakers delivering crystal clear sounds.But these days my phone crashes a few times nd becoming vry slow responsive. Overall the best phone worth the money

Avin, 11 Apr 2010I am planning to buy a phone with good feature..can any one... moreDepends what you intend to do. The Nokia N79 is a pretty good phone, but I personally find it ridiculously expensive. If you want something equally as functional in that form factor then you go for the 5630 XM.
The Nokia 5800 has a very good interface now it's been updated (Still my second favourite, first favourite being HTC Sense). The messaging takes a while to get used to but I personally find it faster than any other keyboard i've used, including hardware ones. The only disadvantage are the little quirks here and there that make symbian a bit of a niche, like the bar scrolling and double taps on icons.
THe E71 is the texters dream. The keyboard is very good, but you'll need small fingers (I have had a E71, and I have ridiculously thin fingers so I'm fine). One thing I will begrudge is the screen clarity was a little naff compared to the 5800, and the music playing was not that great. Plus the interface was a bit hard to read in sunlight, where as I had no problems reading the 5800. Maybe its the 16 million colours support of the 5800.
My advice would be the 5800. Not as compact, but its a great balance between the N79 and the E71, plus it has a much richer appstore.
