maybe ur experincing this coz there is a proximity sensor jus beside the secondary camera (above the XpressMusic words). u might be blocking the sensor unknowingly so thats y it fades out when it is blocked and comes back once it is not block.

I hv to agree on 1 thing, sony ericsson batteries do lasts longer than nokia. i've seen it, my bro has sony ericsson. Nokia needs to do something on the power consumption, the battery's output is adequate (4.7v, 1320MaH), the only think that i can tink of is the consumption of the phone itself. Nokia needs to focus further on the hardware to be energy efficient. I'm not saying only this phone, but generally all Nokia phones.
and to ur question, u need to convert it into *.mp4 format, if u use any converter, it has a setting for phones, but change the resolution to 640x480.

Had this phone for 3 months, it's running on version 40,still no problems @all. Music and video quality is very good. Also browsing is a nice experience. It has a lotof nice apps too though you have to take care to install only reliable apps. Having an antivirus will solidify the performance and web browsing. Overall i rate it 10 10 10.
It's a very good mobile, ideal for people that seek value for money,not eye kandy filled iphones. Cheers nokia, keep up the good work. Do make an express music mobile with Meego OS in it, we'd love to see that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had the 5800 for 1yr now and it’s great; packed with features, really like the external speakers. However, the phone does not multi-task well. If I’m on speaker and switch to notepad to type the screen fades to black and intermittently comes back only to fade out again. Any suggestions welcome……and not suggesting I get blackberry is not a suggestion….lol

this phone is not so good as it should be.The touch screen is so resistive,you'll have to literally jab it to make it respond sometimes!The best touchscreen is of iphone hands down.Not worth 15k.Instead,n95 8gb is far more better than this.
