I have 5mo. old 5800.I experienced the problem during 1st week of using my N5800 and until this time. My husband send a video via bluetooth from his cp which i suspected has a virus... after watching the video thru my cp it happens that the file has corrupted and even all my video clips were gone. and it is not the only time that i experienced that incident. Does the virus affects my cp? I felt bad because all the videos of my son which i recorded earlier and even month/s ago were also gone. Is there any remedy for this? because i never experienced this from my previous cp.

        thanks,

        cathy

One of the best phones ever made by Nokia. Too bad it's being discontinued by most carriers, to pave way to X6 which it's a nice phone too, but it's only almost 2 times more expensive than the 5800... It's new, so the price is still too expensive to most Europeans...
Besides, aside from a better cam, internal memory, and a more slim design, i don't see it a best seller. Not by a long shot.
Compare the specs on one, and the other, you'll see it's a twin with a new face... :S

NEO, 18 Mar 2010hey venus, U didn't read my reply izit? yes, ur problem ... moreHi NEO / Others,
One more dimension of my phones problem. :- When U switch off and eject the memory card, then ON, the applications menu opens perfectly (only 3-4 apps which are installed in phone memory will open) and everything seems very perfect. [but prob re appears when u push the card in]
so, does that mean that the Memory card is corrupt? Formatting mem card will solve my problem instead of hard reset?
            Please suggest, Neo.
            Thanks.

The only thing I don't seem to understand about this phone is that why is it that it doesn't have its own spam sms and prank calls blocker application... also, it does not support smileys, and screensavers.... what age group is it's target anyway??? XD weird phone.

Peter, 19 Mar 2010The disk that comes with the Nokia 5800 has OVI Suite on it... moreSame here, OVI suite sux, has a lot of bugs as well. Also it's a pain in the ass. It is advisable to download the Nokia PC suite frpm the nokia website. That's what i use and it's really easy to handle, sync , update etc. :)
