my software version is V21.0.025 I want to update it to the latest version. But when i go to CHECK FOR UPDATES in the phone, it asks to create a new server profile. But i want to update through Wifi. But there's no option to choose it. please tell me what to do. thank you.

After the introduction of copy-cats sets like 5230 5235 5233 in india, people now hesitate going for 5800 considering it looks same as the other downsized cheap versions. It seems like "birds of cheap feather flocks together."

Yes, i noe that feature and it does costs money, imagine if ur overseas and u hv enabled gprs, it will not be cheap, :-) i have disabled it as i ca wait, i'm not in the hurry or wat. thanks for the input rahul, appreciate it. :-)

However I have been alread... moreHi..it seems like you have tweaked too many buttons. Looks like a hard reset is the only alternative. Before doing that, backup your files first so not to lose your important files. My unit did that one time
but for some reason, just by eliminating many stuffs
from that OVI store that I downloaded solved the problem by itself. I suspected a virus or some sort
got into my unit by downloading so many apps. A hard reset is your best alternative but be prepared
to lose some data even if you back up beforehand.
Good luck...if it still doesn't work, be brave and
assertive enough to head for Nokia Center. Im sure
there is a solution to your problem. Hope it works

Ive had this phone a couple of months now and its great, no major issues at all. If like me you just need a phone to text/ring and listen to music this it great. Even though I have alot more money now if it brakes i'll probably get the same phone again. :)

u must upgrade ur nokia 5800 with the software updater and make urs become the 40.000.000.000. its just superb.
instal ur cd and u'll get the updater on ur desktop
so enjoy
beware:: u must always follow the instructions given

Hey i posted a comment on the mobile version and I can't find it here..I was saying that i just received my 5800 last Monday in the same day i got fired from my work looool what a coincident.
any way yesterday i faced terrible error i was sleeping and when i woke up i wanted to check the time and when i wanted to unlock the screen it didn't give any response i was shocked and tried to power it up than connected to the charger, nothing happened ...it was dead...so i removed the battery and put it again and yes it is working but it did it again twice.. in the third time it was working but i couldn't unlock the key pad so i had to remove the battery while it was working :s...and it worked just fine for almost 16 hours or something than it did again while i was playing a video and the the battery was low i received a call and after finishing it, the phone stopped responding i tried ti shut it down but it refused so i had to remove the battery again while it was working:s...but it didn't work this time...i felt that the battery is worm but not hot ..i left it to cool down a bit then connected it to the charger and it is charging right now...so is there is any one familiar with this malfunction or have any ideas???

nokia 5800 is a very nice and easy to use mobile phone and it's not at all a bad choice to buy. So i suggest everyone to buy this complete featured mobile phone.

hy NEO i found a trick to get a fast gps lock.... it uses gprs .... i enabled a gps from apps n den location..... nd i got d lock with in 20secs but i used it for a sgort trip so it costed me just for getin d lock(5kb) BUT IM not sure in long trips how much data is transferd so if after lock u can dissconnct gprs please tell also.... other wise getting lock is impossible in such a less time ..... we know dat.....

He's right. While the call is in pr0gres the dialer g0es to the lower right., tap it and ther goes the numeric pad, so u can input n0s. While on call
