I want to buy nokia 5800, but some of my friends told me that it is not flexible and comfortable for use & carry in the pocket. Is it really? Can anybody tell me?

for rs.13500, it's really a steal for this price for a phone havin sooo many features...but on the othr hand this too has some negatives lik no option for multiple marking and a major drawback i noticed was.....when some body calls me when my 5800 is in my pocket( take it as my jeans) and when i try to take it out i touch the answer logo by mistake..now oops!!!!!!!! what if i don wanna pick any call 4m that number??nokia cud 've restricted this by forcin us to answer any call only by pressin the call key(the green one).. this might be a very small problem but i suffered a lot... do u guys 've any fix?? if any pls post to braveheart4388@gmail.com

this phone has no battery backup. it gets switched off automatically regrdless battery down. suggest not to buy this model

Should i charge the battery for a good 8 hours? just got the phone today and i was told to charge it for 8hrs straight. So far so good when i explore the function while charging it. Prety fast and neat for v30+ firmware. Going to dl the v40 soon. Hope all is good.

Parth, 28 Jan 2010My product code is : 0575590. Is nokia going to release v40... moreIf you are from India, no matter what the product code is Goto Nokia care, they will update it. Mine is also 0575590, when I checked for the product code no updates are available.
I visited Nokia care, it took hardly 15 mins to update to version 40.0.005

5800 latest firmware v40 is not hackable which is plain boring especially if you're into tweaking your phone and installing tons of apps and applying cool patches.

hey guys i finally got my 5800 xm i hav been using tis device frm past 1 month its a gr8 fone suprisingly im still usin da firmware wich came wit it tat is v21 nd i didnt hav ne problem wit it the touch screen is absolutely fantastic evn wit da old version didnt hang till date the only dissapoinment is abt the camera it isnt so clear bt at times sum pictures do cum clear nd da 2nd part is abt the battery goes down 2 4 battery bars in just 2 days
1 more ting the sound is gr8
anyone who feels lik havin a touch screen cell go 4 tis its awesum

Nokia USA needs to move faster...always behind on releasing new firmwares.

v40 are now available but not to all regions but will available soon. Flash lite 3.1 still in the download after update to v40 and also other older application.

when you updated your firmware to 40 and go to SW update is flash lite is still there?

people, firmware v40 not drain your battery but it dual mode problem.change it to gsm mode.why?when you are out of coverage area,the phone will scan any available line either 3g or gsm.if you change to gsm mode,it will scan only gsm and not 3g.tell me how many of you using 3g or video call?i think 99.9 percent never use it.why?because not all of us can pay such expensive video call rate.mine already update to v40 and can use it more than 3 days.i've already give the tips how to conserve your phone battery.here another tip for wifi.
setting>connectivity>wireless lan>options>setting>show wlan availability(never)>internet connectivity test(never run)>options>advanced settings(yes)>automatic configuration(disabled)>tx power level(10mW)>power saving(you can change to enable or disabled but if you are watching youtube from the phone,disable it for faster connection-and it drain a bit battery)

i even tried "sharing" mode..infact all others. bt no luck for me :(
"TV" mode is worst mode bt "sharing" mode is slidely better. not same as "Image" capturing mode's frame area atall!! ...
My phone has this problem. dnt know if ur phone is a good one!!
and ... sound quality?! Loudeness is not a good quality... bt yah its a plus point. and i didnt mean loudness!!
Listen to several songs comparing with n86 or n96 ... i hope u will find the difference too!!

I... moreabout video recording: change video quality to TV so it has the same size as camera mode. also my 5800 has fm v40 and it's still hacked as i hacked it previously. hack is not gone. it's music quality has been improved and now it has no opponents there. maybe you think better music quality means louder sound?
