I have two folders one is Sound and the other one is Music in the application manager, In the sound folder there are two folders one is Digital which had preloaded songs from nokia and the other one is Simple. If i need to transfer songs to my nokia which folder to select? is it Music folder or the Digital folder or Simple which is inside Sound folder? For a better effect! although all folders plays songs? Any idea why nokia has provided so many folders for music?

would this phone can get damage sound of quality???could this can be the best phone among nokia, dont have damage sound when it used in long term???

You will see all the Wi-Fi connections in range choose the one you want to connect to goto its options and press connect it will ask for password if the wi-fi is secured then you will be connected.

After formatting memory card OR formatting phone and restoring backup, you can't download the apps you've downloaded before from Ovi. This is because the apps leave some residue behind in the private folders. It happens to those app which you didn't uninstall before formatting. Solutions : 1.uninstall all the apps before you format phone and only then make backup. 2. Try to get applications from other site where you can actually save the setup in your memory card. Forums and filesharing sites are good. 3. After formatting/hard reset don't restore backup. You'll be able to download again from ovi.

Hi,
I am from Bangalore. I had done a lot of information collection on its specifications before I bought it finally this 3rd. There has been a lot of confusion about its specifications and unfortunately the authorized sellers of this phone, including NPD and Plant M, don't know the current specifications of the phone. I am posting this to confirm the specifications.
This phone indeed has TV out functionality but the cable isn't provided. I have tested this feature myself. These guyz at NPD and Planet M scared me by saying NOKIA has also removed GPS. In fact, I repeatedly asked them if GPS hardware has been removed or only the maps software. And these guys very confidently told me the GPS hardware receiver itself was removed. However, I have confirmed now, and the GPS works. Only that NOKIA has not given the MAPS software.
This phone costed me Rs. 13500 at Bangalore NPD.
This phone might have a little software inconsistencies here and there, but is great value for its price.

nokia must improve UI of all s60v5 otherwise they will die.... all touchscreens have better UI compared to nokia. nokia sucks.

zee, 09 Jan 2010How can i get the latest firmware ? Use ur phone directly. Dial *#0000# and go to option and choose Nokia and select ur network operator. Remember normal charges apply. The File download is above 4MB.

just a week ago,i found out a virus attack on my fone,so reformat the memory card then my fone,but after sometime the symptom showed up again:it hangs;slow responding;and when you turn-off the fone it shows open application(actually all applications all off).what i did is that used file explorer as well as an antivirus to detect the virus but dont show off,it displays unscanned on private system.i changed the simcard then scanned again and the signs of virus didnt show,i put it back the latter simcard then the fone malfunctions again.so i threw the simcard and now the fone work well back.this was also happen to my friend with 5800xm

To all my friends who responded to my earlier message!
Due to phone hanged. Sent to service center and they got it fixed with the latest firmware. Mentioned about flash resolution issue was told that camera takes better pictures without flash under sufficient lighting condition vs insufficient. For the price I paid and I just refuse to compare it with I-Phone.Most important thing now the phone is working wonderfully and “I’m lovin it”!

since i bought an XM problems mounted U cannot save files to read offline,no pdf Reader,no winRAR,.The box itself costs fortune.U hav to download all the rest from Ovi and that also costs money In all it is a misfortune to own 5800 XM

I am having a problem of INSERT SIM frequently in my Nokia 5800 XM. Please can anyone advise me on what to be done to solve this problem. I will be glad to receive corrective measures ASAP. I bought this Phone 8th August, 2009 and the problem started early December 2009.
