But the touchscreen on the 5800 is resistive type - which means it's not very responsive. Other than that, both are good phones. I think the voice call clarity on Star 3G is better.

jae, 10 Dec 2009am from the Philippines. I also had the same problem on my ... moreoh, and btw, i got the complete package which includes the TV-out cable, the stand, extra stylus with the plectrum on a lanyard and the PC suite with the USB cable. but my phone doesn't sync with the PC suite so still, it is of no use.

am from the Philippines. I also had the same problem on my 5800 XM re: SMS not being sent. It only sits in my outbox and would try to resend it every now and then but would not send at all. The only solution to my problem: doing a hard reset. I lost all of my contacts, messages and almost everything on my phone! I had always loved Nokia but with this kind of issues, I might just get a different handset.

I am facing problem in viewing the youtube on my mobile after updating it ota.
The video stucks after 10 seconds whereas the timer keeps on moving.
if any 1 knows how to rectify the error kindly leave your message with the solution.

Just such a Brilliant mobile to use ,the phones so simple to use, an this mobile as sold well,but i wish Nokia would have put a 5 mega-pixel camera on this mobile,The Speakers are the Best i have ever had on a mobile slighty better than my N95 8gb ones,also i have changed my Front an Back of my 5800 to Red an it looks Magic,the Front cover comes off so easily so having my mobile a Red an Black its Amazing,i wish Nokia would release the 5800 in different colours,so you do not have to change your front yourself,i prefer the 5800 to the N97 as the sliding keypad makes the N97 a bit Broader an heavier,hope we do get a Metal Version of the 5800 released as the PLastic cover is the only bad side of the 5800 making it scratch an mark easily,i bet loads of 5800 will bought for Xmas presents

solutions :
1.touch is glitchy
ans: turn off vibration for touch
this also solves problems when u are in sunlight
2.many users and website reviewers themselves said that touch works 100 % perfect for the phone (without exceptions) if u use stylus came with it
3.if u are just interested in having good perfrmance
turn "theme effects" to "off"
4.(imp). whenever you disconnect from usb don't forget to "remove hardware safely" option.
many people said that their memory card got curropted many a times .(this may be solution)
5.format ur memory stick atleast for 2-3 months.
it will just takes less than 30 minutes because
you can use nokia backup software for it.
you can do it easily
6.don't use too many applications if u don't have antivirus (be sure it is updated time to time).
too many apps cause phone to glitch whether its nokia/sony ericsson . (yes its true)
example :torch apps which actually interfere into phone's camera .
2.using apps like rock"n"scroll interfere into phone's sensors
such apps may cause phone to glitch (i don't say they harm the phone)
videos and glitches : (they are number of converters which convert vids to 5800 format )
videos come perfectly well if they are loaded into phone with correct frame size and resolution.
still some glitches are there on 5800
battery :
really don't know much but there are romours that some 5800 sets are shipped with batteries which have low capicity instead of having the capicity as mentioned on specs

Nokia 5800 XM is a nice phone with a lot of possiblities, ease of functioning and some very annoying gliches.
The phone has great internet surfing experience via opera mobile, dictionaries, video/audio playback through wonderful built in speakers and many other S60 v5 utilities and applications. The display is excellent too.
However, I found the follwing problems:
The software v 30 is unstable and full of errors.
The software v 31 has caused problems in dailing buttons in sunlight. (In shade they work!!).
The phone is bulky.
The battery life is not very good.
The phone looks like a brick when the screen is off ( not very attractive:-)!)
Well, this is best of out of what is available there but you will have to bear with simmilar limitations, that at times irritate you and take a lot of your time to rectify.

sum dust has entered in my earpiece...can dis dust go inside d screen..coz i can see sum particles inside the screen...pls help if sum1 is hving dis prob..
