tharani, 24 Oct 2009'm plan to buy this mobile.. weather this mobile is good or not..Nice phone really loves it... Touch response, music, Free SN headset, damn amazing.. Bought it on 16th still now no more crashes or hangs but too much of apps & games aren't good for phones performance gets slow down in oppening apps & auto rotation takes time, otherwise more mp3's , photos & videos are not a performance killer... 8gb(after booting u may get 7.3gb) is large enough for media.... Small (some what big) disappointment is battery life lasts only for 1 -1.5 dayz with sensor settings OFF, back light time 15 secs, Light sensor low, No wifi, No 3G.......(lot to write) ,but i am using GPRS lot.... Build quality cheap plastic (hates china made plastic) gets finger prints easily, glossy plastic, some creaks (rarely).... Little suggestion if u bought it for 13.9K u can't get extra accesories ,for this u want to buy a new nokia branded cover (just visit 2nd page of the 5800 review) which is cool & sexy 350-RS,compulsory item "SCREEN GUARD" NOTE: thru screen guard dont cover the SENSOR items & Sec camera.... Thats all frnd Recommended it 95%..... Last but not least my 5800XM is surely a "PROUD in the CROWD" handset....

A touch screen phone with considerably larger and more pixel dense screen is cheaper than qwerty phones with relatively smaller and lower resolution screen. Probably E-series is business class and XpressMusic is economy class with discounts. At least Nokia wants us to believe that. Making the same journey at lower rates is a good decision.

I baught this phone in india.here are some good and bad experience of mine with this phone
i found lots of problem in this phone.....
1)4th day after my purchase shortcut icons of my phones home screen are disappeared.
2) Phones browser is not much impressive( if i compare to motorola a 1200 browser).opera mini 5 is better then default browser.
3)lack of options (like copy paste)...clipboard
SOME POINTS WHICH ARE ORDINARY
1)battery life is ok. *** (3 star)
2) camera is ok
SOME GOOD POINTS..............
1) music very good *****(5 star)
2) video quality is very good *****(5 star)
3) phone's design is nice ****(4 star)
i'll be able to write something more after some time

hey frns , i am really disapointed , i got this fone on 09-09-09 and then i have installed certain themes on it and now i have a problem , whenever any call comes to me or whenever i call to someone , my phone touchscreen do not work , for eg , when i call someone then on screen , options available are end call and loudspeaker , but on touching over them , nothing happens , but when , on doing a call or , on an incoming call , i slide the slide button , before picking up , the touchscreen options work very well , also the touchscreen works very good when the phone is not in use for a call .

I am getting 3-4 days of batrey backup time. Just make sure you charge it to full, it takes around 1.5 hours to do so. Turn off GPS, WiFI, Bluetooth while not in use. Lock screen/phone while not in use.

plz give feedbac... morei m getting approx 3-3.5 hrs talktime + other minor uses. Need to charge battery after every 24 hrs(1 day).
Nokia Care people is ready to change this battery. But worry is for new battery, may be It is also like old one(1 day life). So what to do frnds.....
i think new batteries are not gud enough.....whtz ur opinon dear new users. plz reply soon.

Hey guys.. bought this phone a week back ( using ver 30.0.011 in india) ...
1. Battery life is poor. Lasts 1 day (24 hrs) with 1 hr music with headphones, 10-15 mins call, 60-90 mins of interenet on mobile(including fring/nimbuzz) and occasional gps usage (ive not used it so far but just played with it to check it out. Im guessing its bec of its large (and awesome looking) screen.
2. Web : i think the preloaded mobile browser is pretty good, but as someone already pointed out it shuts down sumtime for no reason at all... Youtube videos look good... I also use opera mini, which i think is more economical since it uses much lesser data.
3. Music Quality : Great.. No problems here.
4. UI : It was very good when i bought it.. now its almost the same but i feel it has slowed down marginally becaue ive installed quite a few applications and songs(less than 1 gb). Though still its ok and does not irritate.
5. Overall, I'd say a very good phone. Totally worth its price .. Only if you can charge it everyday...
To be frank I can charge it every now and then, but having a better battery life would be gr8.. nd i think 1 day is quite less.

catgirl, 25 Oct 2009loving my fone. one problem tho can someone tell me why it ... morei guess u r using opera mini-5,its a beta version,means under development. so there are few issues like hanging,sudden exit etc. In final,stable version all these issues wiil be sloved. have a nice time. enjoy!

loving my fone. one problem tho can someone tell me why it freezes when downloading pics thru opera mini browser????? and also sometimes when downloading applications????? if someone can help would be appreciated, thanks. Sometimes when browsing it jumps out of browser aswell. any reason for this behavior??????????

mrn, 25 Oct 2009You can check out e55 and e71 too.tks for suggestion. In india, E55 would be 5000 INR costlier than 5800XM. Considering that the firmware updates to 5800XM cleared out some of the shortcomings like performance, i chose 5800XM than E55. Moreoever, E55 not yet released here.

phone and wondering about the battery life of this
phone, I'll tell you what to do, so your Lithium-Ion
battery will charge fully during initial period.
When you first get the phone, normally it will be
half-charge. Use it, until it gets discharge totally,
then charge it fully. Then again use it, until it
shut-off itself, and charge it again. Do this about
three times to get it to full capacity. After that,
you can charge it anytime that you fell like charging
it. The battery life will be much better, if you do
this initially. Hope this helps...

Does Opera mobile 9.5 has a s60 ver.? People using 5800 how is the browsing experience? Can you read website articles on it comfortably? Are the touch controls, navigation and onscreen keyboard input good? And how are the websites viewed best, landscape or portrait?

how long it can go with moderate usage..like listining music and attending a few calls and playing a few games...some times i am into photography also even though the camera is not very good.........
plz reply frnds as many of the owners r telling that the BATTERY IS REALLY VERY POOR, it cant withstand for a single day .....IS IT TRUE GUYS....
