For all those who have missing videos, songs, sms and applications. What you all face is not a mobile or software problem. The problem is with the pc you connect to copy data. If you disconnect the phone without safety hardware eject, you will likely corrupt the memory card's file structure which holds the file location data on the card and either lose files or get them misplaced in other locations. You will mostly be unable to eject the usb device due to a virus on the pc accessing the card, though it wont infect your phone. So better connect it to a clean pc. Once you have this problem, to correct it, connect the phone in data storage mode and right click on the memory card in my computer and take properties, tools and then disk check. Tick both the boxes and give it a scan. Your problem will be fixed. The easiest way to solve this is by formatting the card, but everyone will have data on it. Connecting phone in pc suite mode might possibly avoid this problem but not sure. Cards with corrupt file systems will show incorrect file space.
I got this phone a week back from chennai @ 13.9k with the sennheiser and the reebok glasses. The sennheiser only has a moderate build quality and the fidelity is superb but bass doesn't touch near my sony earphones. The glasses r cool n elegant.
Abt the phone, its as smooth as butter, its faster than s40 os and can run more than 4 heavy apps.
Camera is superb during daytime, but at night, its better not to be used. Music clarity is also superb. You can view, edit pdf,word and all office stuff. You can even cut ringtones, draw pictures, download torrents, chat with messengers, watch movies on HD clarity. Best of all, im typing all this direct from phone.Its faster to type with a full onscreen keyboard than many keypresses on a normal cell keypad. I love typimg on this. Which phones at this range gives you all this? Not the 5630, as it has a tiny screen. The 5530 comes next with a smaller screen. Kinetic scrolling is not that good and so dont die for it and change options. This cell has serious audio under the hood with its own audio processor which n series dont even have. Hear music on this with a good quality headset like creative ep-630 @ 700rs but u'll never understand what i mean if u use the standard nokia, though the bundled sennheisers are marginally better. I made the right choice for me, now its you ppl's turn.

i want to buy this set priced at 14.7 in my state (MP-India) without sennheisser headsets (i cant get that stock anywhere!!!)......
should i buy it.????
I heard nokia is phasing out this set...

The v31.2 firmware fixes and adds alot to the preformance of the device

Microsoft Word and PDF from computer work in Nokia 5800 or not? if we copy documents from computers to put in it, can we read, edit those documents in this phone?

Change log for v31.2
Not i have a NAM model that ran v21.5 and didn't get v30,v31.0 so now i have v31.2 since i used nemisis
But this is what i've noticed
- email notification(shows how much email is in your inbox)
- improved touch response
-bigger mini keyboard
-better sound quality
- better camera quality
-louder speakers volume
-better battery preformance
-Less RAM usage
-accelormeter works much better

Some people really take the lack of kinetic scrolling seriously huh???
Well If i may be honest, I tried both the tube and the 5530, and i found the tube much easier to use despite the lack of kinetic scrolling, so stop complaining, you may be better off without it. although I would like it to include the 20 rather than 4 contacts, but meh, not really a serious issue. get 5630 then, its cheaper than tube, but with the exact same features.

this phone is awesome.what a power packed device.i got it on oct 2nd(with sennheiser pmx 60 free) in madras.better go with reebok sunglass option than sennheisser headphone.sennheisser doesnt fit for all,it is bit bigger on my head and even the sonic levels r only marginally better than standard nokia earphones,which is provided with this monster. i had a look on reebok sunglass too,it was elegant.
