does this firmware version 31.xxx contains the new homescreen (contats bar + shortcuts bar)?
because i have the update installed and it seems nothing changed (i have to choose between the contacts and shortcuts)

I bought this phone yesterday(1st OCT 09) , and I must admit that the phone is indeed beautiful, the finish is solid and really looks good in your hand.
The hardware and software combination (Symbian 60 5th ed) are matching the phone is very responsive.
The camera is crappy though.. This phone is not for shutterbugs, (any shutterbug worth his salt should be carrying a DSLR, no phone can do justice to photography with a digital zoom).
Enough said, with the price tag of 13.5K INR ,Delhi/NCR this bundle is worth the upgrade, and should serve your tech requirements in the years to come.

anil, 02 Oct 2009@rbx ....its a gr8 device 4 sure.i have been waitin 4 5530 ... more5800 is better than5530 interms of screen size, battery, talk time, standby time, features. 5530 does not have inbuilt gps. No 3G, poor display under direct sun light etc. 5530 however is more compact than5800 as it fits comfortably in your palm. kinetic scrolling, 20 contacts bar, nice look etc. are 5530 advantages. 5800 comes with 8gb memory card and 5530 is packed with 4gb card. Remaining features almost same in both the phones including price. ha ha.. Its your choice now my friend. I purchased 5800 recently and quite happy with it.

well i just bought 5800xpress music frm oman, nice touch screen phone, hmm a good compititor for iphone.
my question is the latest firmware as per nokia official website for 5800xpress is 31.0.008 *
And my phone firmware is 30.0.011, when i updated with nokia software updater its showing that the current firmware i.e 30.0.011 is the latest firmware updates available, but in nokia websites its 31.0.008
kindly help me. i want to update my phone with the latest firmware.

ganze , 02 Oct 2009hey dude wt u got in box coz i heard now 5800 coming wid bi... moreThere is no tv out feature in 5800 and they removed that software from the phone it seems. also the tv out cable is not available with the box. no pouch,no stand. I verified 5800 using my n95 tv outcable. picture is not visible but we can hear the sound.means.. only songs can be played on tv. thats my experience with the latest version.

The shop keeper gave me travel bag and 5800 pouch as free gifts. All the gifts and my phone are superb. I am satisfied with sennheiser headphone. However, I am using nokia stereo bluetooth earphones with 5800 and the music is rocking. My phone software version is 30.0.011 and I have no problem with the phone. It is cool than my present phone nokia n95. Cause the touch feeling is cooooool. I even used iphone 3gs(my brother"s) and iphone dominates in touch sensitivity thats it. 5800 colours, features, 3rd party applications and price are awesome.(my brother paid 42000 indian rupees for iphone 3gs and I bought nokia 5800 for only 13700 indian rupees). I love both iphone and nokia but i can purchase 3 nokia 5800 phones for an iphone price.That too nokia features are better than iphone. go to nokia music store(I got 100 free songs) and ovi store(thousands of free applications and games) and we have everything. 5800 gprs speed is better than iphone 3 gs. Remember... iphone is still not offocially released in india. why you all are still thinking? Go for nokia 5800 or wait for nokia 5230 cause its price is less than 10000 rupees I heard. Remember... I am not degrading iphone but iam satisfied more with nokia 5800 may be because of its price,features,3g,wifi,navigation facility,gprs speed,camera(it is atleast better than iphone), least problem with bugs (may be because my 5800 version is latest???) etc.
