People must know, that this handset is not the first touch screen phone by Nokia

Greeting,
I have the nokia 5800 XM myself for about.. 3 months now. And I must see, when i compare it with other phones on the market, it isn't a very good phone. The good points are:
-The music player system (windows media player) works great.
-There are applications downloadable (not enough, but still).
-The sound quality of the speakers (the best feature of the 5800)
-Video quality (absolutely great!)
-The media button (right above the screen for links to the media player, images, internet etc)
the dark side of the 5800:
- phone freezes alot.
- my battery doesn't fit propely (somehow) so my phone turns off all the time.
- The internet browser is terrible to use (sometimes you have to click 50000 times for a link to open).
- the graphics, compared to an iphone or ipod touch the graphics suck soooo hard. it is like the visual difference between windows xp and windows vista ultimate.
- only 4 contacts/shortcuts on the desktop, I want to have my 6 closest friends+atleast 2 apps on my desktop.
- When you have a lot of artist in your music player. It is hard to scroll to the artist you want to listen to, wich is irritating me.
I wanted to have this phone because i listen to music a lot, but i'm highly dissapointed is to much features on this phone. I think i'm going to buy an iphone, samsung omnia hd or maybe a Nokia N97, but the user-opinions on that phone aren't good.
I hope this helps people who wants to buy this phone.
(btw, i'm not an iphone freak :p, but i must say that i find it a very impressive phone).

i got this phone its rocks, now its 16000/= chennai india. its really worth. music and videos are really great. videos take time loading though once loaded they are gr8. as a phone its fine. i faced a slight glitch with landscape mode, it doesnt work some times. but its very comfortable to type a message.
so far going good...
will get back after a month.

For whoever is interested in flashing it, here is a link to the EMEA version package of the latest firmware for Nokia 5800, i think is prerelease and you wan't see much change on it, before the official release, and please don't blame me for anything goes wrong!

Winura, 22 Jul 2009If you use WiFi it is bound to shorten the life of your bat... moreok~but first days i bought i haven't finish the initial charged properly , i just charged about 4 hour only , afterwards , i heared my friends say first times want to charged about 8 hour , so yesterday i had charged more than 8 hour only i used till now . my battery life just still have 4 battery only....

Kensou, 22 Jul 2009can somebody tell me, why my 5800 battery life so easy to f... moreIf you use WiFi it is bound to shorten the life of your battery. But for 30 minutes of WiFi shouldn't be that bad. Your battery should at least have above 65% left. Have you done the initial charging properly?

can somebody tell me, why my 5800 battery life so easy to finish,when i charge my battery be full, then i just used half an hour time to listen music and use the wi-fi to online , after that , my battery just still has half battery only ....so izit is my battery got the problem? i just bought nokia 5800 1 week only....
