I have my N95 for almost 2 years now, It's one of the best mobile I ever had (less the battery life, but it's partlyh my fault), and later tonight, I'll get a 5800XM.
I really really hope that I will be satisfied with this mobile. I know and have already accepted that the camera (of course) isn't any better. I personally want to have a touchscreen mobile, after weeks of hanging out at GSMarena, I decided to get this one. And the ONLY reason why I chose this over the S8000, S8300, Arena etc. is because of the battery life. A very simple fact but is most important to me. ^_^
So maybe after a week or two, I'll tell you guys how I feel about the 5800. And I am really hoping to write a review on how satisfied I am.

First it should be charged for 8 hours straight with the phone switched off, use the phone until the battery is completely dead, give it another 4 hour charge with the phone switched off, use the phone till the battery is dead, charge it again with the phone switched off for 4 hours.
You shouldn't charge the battery while the battery is half full and also you shouldn't leave the phone plugged in all night. The battery will be fully charged in less than 2 hours and just unplug it soon after that.
Using too much of brightness on the display is also a reason for poor battery life experience...

Just a few questions, Ive been reading the posts but haven't read any tips about this...
Anywho, MOST said that their battery life lasts about 3 days... and some said 1-1.5 days... and a few said just 1 day. Im just curious, maybe this is an issue with the initial charge?
I just MIGHT be getting a 5800XM later (can't wait to get off work!!)
So just to ask, do you have any charging tips for the initial charge? Like how long should it be? should I drain the "stock" charge for charging? or any battery-care tips?
My N95 gets charge everyday because I think did not care for the battery properly.. >_< I dont want that to happen again.

5800 user, 20 Jul 2009wrong info. it does not have LED flash.Yes not single LED it has a DUAL LED flasher.

Coz its cheaper? To save a few bucks? The bugs in the firmware will eventually be fixed with the updates.

from my experience... great value for your money. the only thing is that the camera is not that good at dim or dark places... Nokia should get a better technology of their cameras.

Is any body from dubai experiencing any bugs with this phone? ?
And what is its current price there.
And if i buy it in dubai will its WARRANTY be still VALID if i shift to delhi

I previosly used a nokia e90. Sold it for this 5800. When comparede to the e90 this phone is far more technologically advanced. Hope new firmware fixes some bugs which is still there but livable. All in all with a good pair of headphones this phone can beat the ipod touch or sony walk man series. Its ear piece voice needs to be a bit louder too on busy streets. The price has come down to 16600 indian rupees now. For that its a truly worth phone.

I am using this set for two months now & have found it really amazing. But recently my set Nokia 5800, has kind of blocked my outgoing sms service. It keeps on deferring the messages & doesn't send them. I have tried re-installing the firmware but that hasn't helped either. Can someone please guide me in this case !!!

isoop, 19 Jul 2009i`m going to buy this phone....what do u suggest me nokia 5... morejuz w8 for d Nokia 5530 XM, if u dont need d 3G & GPS, in my opinion it's much better bcoz of 5530XM's kinetic scroll & widget homescreen.. both have loud music, same camera resolution, same expandable memory up to 16GB..
advantage of 5530 is its CPU has up to 400+ Mhz processor (5800 has 300+), advantage of 5800 is 80MB internal (5530 has 70MB) & 5800 has slightly faster web browser wid Upnp tech..
5800 is mor elegant interm of its appearance & camera design, has wider screen display but it's heavier.. 5530 is slim & wieghs lighter but wid smaller screen display..
i have tried 5800XM, bugs & negative comments are sumhow true but can bcome stable upon xperience.. i'm selling it to try 5530 now.. hehe..
