Anonymous, 03 Jun 2020The review from phonearena shows this is a very good phone ... moreAny phone will looks good enough if you don't compare it with other phones but if you compare it with Chinese/Korean phones you'll see Nokia phones has many cons.
Other phones with higher resolution, bigger size and more advanced image sensor will produce better result especially in challenging situations than the small image sensor in Nokia 5.3.
If you do some reasearch about Nokia phones you'll realize that most of their Android phones uses lower grade components than the competitions for example Nokia 5.3 still using gorilla glass 3, slow eMMC, small image sensor usually from Samsung (they are not even using top of the line image sensor), low resolution screen with poor calibration and slow response time.
This review is better than PhoneArena or most other sites because it shows you many important things from a smartphone that you don't see from other sites like network speed, gps, screen quality and temperature of the phone under load.

Great device for the price, great camera, 2 days battery life, and super design. It still feals like a NOKIA even though is plastic, it feals like aluminium.

The review from phonearena shows this is a very good phone for its price. The resolution is 720 though but you wouldn't even notice it. The main camera is only 13mp, but the pictures are great, bearing in mind that larger megapixel does not necessarily mean good camera

James, 06 May 2020Please recommend a similar priced, better phone. I wanted t... moreI don't think its horible phone. The 720p display is somewhat outdated. But nokia always put some good quality lcd panels. And also the 720p display will give best performance with Snapdragon 665. Just check Xiaomi miA3 which has same spec the performance is absolute beast it can give some premium midrange phones gaming performance. I don't know about camera so wait for review for camera. And 4000 mAh battery it will definitely get for 2days of battery life since Snapdragon 665 is very efficient. So if you are looking for camera performance then wait for review otherways go for it. You will get 2 years of software update. So this will easily last for 3 years.

Anonymous, 25 May 2020Coming from Nokia 6 used 3 years. Now I am using this phone... moreWhere did you bought this device? I was looking to buy one for someone in the family, but did not found it, so i satteled for nokia 6.2, not a bad device at all. But this one would have been even better because of the "hugeness" of the screen.

I am currently using a Nokia 4.2. It serves me well and I like for its size. Could your forthcoming coming Nokia 5.3 come in a similar "small" size. The size is very pocket friendly. Literally.

Coming from Nokia 6 used 3 years. Now I am using this phone for 2,5 weeks. Pros: battery, camera, screen, updates.
Cons: size and no 4K video
My advice: Yes I do recommend this phone it's a great buy which you will not regret, if you buy this phone you can go forward with it for at least 3 years which is perfect!

Asghar, 21 May 2020NO ZEISS optics crap thing to buy...I agree having Zeiss lense is an added advantage for photography but sorry Nokia Camera App is too poor for the support. Unless they develop the software there is no point in having a branded hardware.

Damn, its 2020 and this phone's specs says its still stuck with Bluetooth 4.2.
In my opinion all bluetooth versions before version 5 sucks.

joshboy, 15 May 2020Same here. Phone is still going strongThe build quality on those phones was altogether on another level compared to current generation of Nokias. The batch from 2017 and 2018 Nokia's like 5, 5.1, 6, 6.1. 7, 7 Plus, 8 and 8 Sirroco were explary and symbolised Nokia quality. They were simply different in approach on how to design and engineer a phone drastically different from mainstream competition. The same cannot be said for current generation of Nokia as they are as mainstream as it gets.
I personally did not like Nokia's latest transitioning in construction quality from:
"Built like a tank" & premium metal uni-body construction of Nokia 6.1
TO
Metal-glass-sandwich premium but fragile construction of Nokia 7.1
TO
Plastic-glass-sandwich not so premium but equally fragile construction of Nokia 7.2
Even though I did not like this trend, I understand why they did it. Most people are never going to buy Nokia 6.1 for its premium high quality construction at a premium price when we have a plastic phone with same specs for half the price. 90% of smartphone buyers does not understand the importance of construction quality.
