well, samsung has better camera and memory but battery only lasts 20 hours and doesnt have infared however nokia 6111 has infared and an fm radio i personally prefer nokia 6111, its reasonable and samsung d600 is way overpriced!

Battery is pretty good, its lasted me FOUR DAYS before it runs out good old nokia

I got mine today, the black one. It's a'ite, wat i'm really waiting for is the n80 or something similar, it's pretty basic nokia, none of the symbian stuff, but perfect for a couple of months and my basic nokia needs. Pretty cute too, thought it was gonna be smaller though.

I was really looking forward to this phone but when I actually tried it in carphonewarehouse I couldnt text without nearly breaking my thumb! The keys are really awquard to reach if youve got big hands and Id probably need some serious physio after a few months use! Other than that its gorgeous!

i really want this foneee!!! it seems perfect 4 me with the only reservation being the memory! i called carphone warehouse and they sed they didnt hav it and dnt no wen they're gona get it in stock! :(
i specifically want the pink or white one on orange and from carphone warehouse cos this lush lad works der! lol! if its really £159.99 then thats cool!
anyway lemme knw if u lot hear of any developments!

Can I know whether anybody has the problem with the phone automatically switching off by itself or that the battery life is very low?
This is because I've heard a few complaints about these 2 problems and that the battery lasts less than 20 hours. I hope this is not true though, I've been wanting to get this phone.

Here in Bangkok the phone was available at the beginning of the month, albeit in small quantity. Would love to buy it, but now it is nowhere to be found. The saleswoman at Nokia shop told me they won't get any delivery soon because of a ''problem'', and wouldn't elaborate. Hope it is just poor product management, and not a problem with the phone...If Nokia messed up (again) with this phone, too bad because it would be selling like hot cakes especially in this Christmas time.

Love the phone but does anyone know when the pink version will be available? after the fiasco with the 6280 i really need one of the new nokias with my contract ending 10 jan.

The nokia 6111 feels VERY comfortable in your hand when shut, its very cute in your jean pocket too :P but overall its very comfortable however when open and texting, the top layer of numbers, 1,2 and 3 arent in the best position, too near the top

I'd prefer the silver/white version. It's more stylish. Nokia uses this color also in their Demo User Guide and in campaign banners.
In The Netherlands the release is planned in week 51. I hope all colors are direct available!
- But can someone say about the material quality and is it comfortable in your hand with the slide closed?
- Is it comfortable to sms, with the slide open? How does the keypads feel?

Izzy, Although carphone warehouse arent selling the Nokia 6111 on Virgin, other may be, however if no luck then £199.00 for a sim free mobile in carphone warehouse

carphone warehouse says that when it isavailable it will be in black, silver and pink. I personally don't like pink but I am still so stuck between black or white/silver!!!

has no one not realised yet that on www.lxdirect.co.uk they are selling the N6111 on O2 pay as you go for £164.99, delivery within 4 weeks and they are all in stock! I have phoned up the carphone warehouse today and they don't have the N6111 on pay as you go because none of the stores have it in stock yet, neither do O2. I'm going to go instore tomorow morning and if they have it in stock then I will order it. But remeber because Lxdrect is so cheap and carphone warehouse have a price guarantee they have to drop their prices. If they don't I know where I will be getting mine from.
I still don't know whether to get the black or the silver. What are everyones opinions? I held the dummy phone in CWarehouse and it was in black, it did feel really plasticy. But for some reason I think if I get it in white/silver it won't feel like that What does everyone else think?
