1. Never charge your phone until the low bat reminder shows up, but dont let it drain though. . .
2. As much as possible DO NOT use your phone while charging it. . . .
3. For a new battery you should wait for it to be on low status and then initial charging will be 4-6 hours. . . . . . . .
4. Take advantage of the enviroment. . . During the morning you should dim the brigthness of the phone. . .
5. Lastly turn of 3g if your not using it or the web, it will help you save power at the sametime boost your signal and avoid delay sms. . . . Cheers!

jam, 28 Apr 2011Hi! thank you in advance for answering back to my querries.... moregud day jam! Tnx 4 answering all my questions as honest as you can, it was very nice of you to provide all the info i need to analyze the problem. . . And based on my analysis this is the results. . . .
1. About the amount of time you are using the phone as a modem you said its 6-8 hours every weekends, and it drains up, and u plug the charger so you can continue using the phone. . . . . Its a big NO NO! First of all it is a phone not a modem, it is recommended that you only use it for a maximum of 3 hours a day as a modem, why? Since it is a phone it will doing 2 task at the same time that will consume your battery twice as much. . . .
1. Its gonna fetch 3g signal from your carrier and 2g as well. . .
2. That signal will be transmitted to ur pc thru usb, which as we all knw it will also consume your battery life since it is connected thru pc suite. . .as i assumed. . .
Original batteries have serial numbers on them from nokia. . It will cost you around 5-6 hundred p. . . .
Probably your batteries are bloated due to this erroneous usage. . . .
What part of the phone is messed up? It will be the phones power amplifier or P.A, It is responsible for power and signal stability, thats why your phone heats up. . . . But for you to make sure that this is the problem you need to have a circuit tester. . . . . I guess you already knw what that is, if you have that this is the following things you need to do. . . .
1. Remove the battery of your phone. .
2. Set your circuit tester by turning the dial and check if it is responding by connecting the possitive cord with the negative cord, if you are using the analouge set the dial to a 4oclock position, the meter should be responding upon connecting the 2 polarity. . . If you are using a digital one set it to 3.7 volts. . . It will increase if the two polarities are connected. . .
3. Put the red or possitive cord on the possitive battery terminal of the phone. . Possitive should be on the far left side of terminal. . . Then connect the black or negative cord on the far right side of the terminal. . . . .
4. After doing that the meter should be on 3.7 volts. . . Then try to connect the possitive to the negative terminal and the negative to the possitive terminal. . . If the phone is not shorted it should react. The meter should be zero. . . . But if it will react and will give you a reading. . . . Then bingo! Your phone needs a repair or you need to buy a new phone. . . . . . . Cheers!

Annoying BATTERY Low? Try to set your phone into GSM mode network. Just press MENU>SETTINGS>PHONE SETTINGS>PHONE>NETWORK>NETWORK MODE then select GSM. If you really want to have fast connection when browsing on the net or downloading some files, set it to UMTS which takes you so fast connecting. But, UMTS consumes half life to your battery.

AnonD-7212, 28 Apr 2011hi there! I see you have problem with your phone regarding ... moreHi! thank you in advance for answering back to my querries. On your first question:
1. How long you use it as a modem per day at full battery charge?
- i've been using this as a modem for 6 to 8 hours every weekend.
- When i use it as a modem my battery is fully charge and when it's already drained because it was connected to a computer i put a charger on it so i can use it again.
2. How old is your current battery?
- My old battery was already replaced with 3 new batteries because it's draining up even i charge it.
3. Is the battery a replacement that came from nokia? Or just those cheap ones from local handset stores?
- I bought it from local stores, but they told me it was a original one from Nokia. If i would recall the cost is P350.00, i know that this is a class A battery. I've not yet tried the original one came from nokia, how much the cost of the battery?
4. Do you notice that your phone heats up when you use it?
- Yes my battery heats up when i'm using it as a modem for several hours.
5. Does your signal fluctuate?
- Sometimes but not all the time. It gives me a good signal just like a smartbro... As i've said i've been using this for 6-8 hours for surfing in the internet.
6. What part of the phone heats up?
- The battery alone.
Hope this answers to all your querries. Please help me. I don't have enough money to replace my old phone and also to pay for the repairs, if there's any.
thanks and God Bless!

ive used almost any kind of phone out there, and for this phone i should say that this is something in between stylish and technical. . . . . Good cmera, with flash, good os symbian os s60 3rd edition, handy, good battery life depending on how you use it, and how old your battery is, high mmc capacity, good loudspeakers, 3g capable, front cam can be used for self shot, usb ready, and most of all friendly price. . . . About hacking phones let me give you a quick explanation about it. . . . Almost all phone brands have specific kind of sofware protection built in to protec the original os of the phone, example when u install a unsigned symbian app to this phone or any other symbian phones usually u will get a error message saying certificate error or expired certificate, . .there are a couple of ways to bypass or "Hack" It as filpinos say it,
1. Use security bypass softwares such as Helloox, or hello carbide
2. Flash the fw with phoenix using custom fw. . . Or hacked fw. . .
3. Download free signer app and apply for certificate and key for your phone thru www.opda.net
4. For expired certificate just adjust the date 2 or 3 years back and try to install again, . . .
Steps 1 to 3 will enable system folder access on the phone so the user can modify it, removing restrictions, changing fonts, installing unsigned apps, changing boot up splash and sound, modifying cmera software for better results, and also sound drivers for better quality. . . . However keep in mind that this is applicable depending on the os and fw version of the phone. . . . . . And this is for nokia phones only. . . . . Tnx. . Good day. . .and oh by the way *#7370# will not save your phone from viruses since its only a soft reset command. . . Here is the proper procedure. . .
1. Remove mmc and backup ur files such as,contacts photos, music, videos, remember dont save ur system folder!
2. Format your mmc thru a pc using a card reader.
3. Turn off your phone, , press * 3 green dial and power button, when the phone boots release power button but dnt release the other buttons, phone screen will blink, then the handshake will show up, release the buttons and it will let u choose ur country. , thats it. . .cheers! . . .

its funny anyway that all threads about this and similar fones always have the same posters: Ppl from India complaining that the volume is not loud enough, and Filipinos talking about hacking phones, and they dont have any specific hack to suggest, they dont even know what hacking is.
India: Its not loud enough
Filipinas: You can hack it
India: How do i hack it?
Filipinas: (4ever silence)

joe, 20 Apr 2011I am using Nokia 6120c from the past 1 Year. Its a good pho... moreHad the same on a 6120c, it started like that and got worse and worse, until it no longer would boot up after one of its auto-shutdowns.
This reply may also concern Abir with auto-restart problems, its a sign of a dying fone but hope a firmware flash will help you. 6120c dont last as long as 6300, it doesnt have that rock solid reliability.

I have a new and modern handset. But will never give this one up. I had a good run with the apps, but 3 years is a long time in the handset world.
Feature set may be outdated, phone functionality will never be. The build quality is great, and battery life is good. Only issue was the heating effect that Nokia denied.
