I sell my Motorola V3i and buy this Nokia, is a very impressive phone, it beats a Motorola in any application i use: send messages, take photos, listen MP3, very configurable keys and menus, a lot of themes and applications, too economic micro-SD card, and for the end, the best internal display i see in a middle-low range phone, high resolution and contrast.
Much people talk about the poor baterry life, in my case, i use 3-4 hrs for MP3, 60 min conversation and 10-20 messages in a day, and the battery lasts about 2 days... is sufficient for me. Andres from Uruguay

its good fone but the camera is bad and its speaker is very good and have a loud speaker.but still having a bad camera and also its battery.

It was a great phone two years ago, now it's just basic but I still have this phone with 2 gb minisd with lots of things, works perfectly and the music player it's good, only the camera and battery aren't good
It isn't an iphone but still rocks =)

bought this phone second hand. pretty nice and descent but i wished there was S40 V3 on it. it is supposed to be able to run a lot of java apps but it keeps crashing on a lot of them. games get pretty slow too. native music player is crap as well, longing for the one i had on my 3110c (which i lost recently)...BTW the phone i bought is labelled TIM (italian operator) and it cannot be updated firmware is 3.50 wanted 5 or 6 version but NSU keeps telling me no update for the phone. if only it could be updated it would have been a great phone.

i used this kind of phone for several months.. actually at firs it is quiet good but now i discovered that the battery is low..
its always low batt even if you dont use it..
maybe its because it has double screen

The Nokia 6131 is a sleek wonderful phone, but u've get 2 be careful in handling else u loose ur phone. Enjoy the feel of it on ur palm!

Its quite a solid n rocking phone.. Loud voice, beautiful display screen.. But also has negative points like its body isn't easily available so hav to b carefull wid scratches n all.. Other wise its an awesome phone..

I love this phone i upgraded the firmware ando work flawless, the camera is the only fault but i don't care is a phone .. i have my canon rebel xt for that la labor, excellent phone!! with a 2Gb microSD 1.5 Gb in music 500MB in games rulez!!

It is a very nice in the midclass phone,very good innovation in series 40 in nokia, just press the side button then the phone will open out,i have this for 2years it still works perfectly,even i use it frequently i never repaired the flex of this phone.
And i have it with 1GB card with no hangs. screen resolutions are good (like in latest phones), the keys are comfortable,soft,easy to press keypad, i has a good sound in media player when you use hs-23 headset.. the cons of this is the battery life.,maybe it is for only in calls/text not for music phone.of youonly use it for texting only it can last for 2 days.
the camera is one of the good 1.3megapixel camera.
it has elegant design,conservative (maybe bacause of the combination of gray,black,silver color).
just keylock it to prevent the accidental press of camera key when it in your pocket or somewhere.
Other say it is not a good phone but if you compare it in other series 40 phones it is one of the best, if you want a simple phone.This one is for you.
8/10 - coz of the camera - 1.3 megapixel and the battery life - not for music phone.

I've had the Nokia for about 2 years now until last week it decided to break into two pieces (the bottom half hinge separated from the screen).
I took it to my local Nokia repair centre and was quoted $40 for them to asses the problem, and after that i would get a quote for repairs. I declined. It was a perfect opportunity to get a new phone.
Pros:
- Big bright screen (16m colours)
- Nice key pad
- Inbuilt browser was nice, due to the big screen.
Cons:
- Battery life is terrible
- Inbuilt space is a miesally 11MB (i put 2 songs and it was already full). Yes, you can get a microSD card, but still it should be somewhere in the 200mB-500mB range.
- Music player isn't up to todays standards, headphone jack is very annoying
- Video recording time limitation
- Flip mechanism can be troublesome, and may break after use
- Medicroe camera
- Silver plastic edges show scratches easily
- The large screen is exposed, and can get damaged quiet easily
Overall it was a very solid phone and did its job quite well. I am now a happy brand new owner of the iPhone, and whilst this phone pales in comparaison it was a good phone in its time.

i hate this phone.i had this phone for about a year now.and the flip has broke into two.plus,the camera sucks,music player is not loud as i wanted to.but the keypad is comfortable for me to texting.i really hate this phone.now my 6131 cannot be used anymore bcos it has broken in two.haha.i laughed when it split.cos i really2 hate this phone u know.and i prefer sony ericsson rather than nokia :DD seriously, i recomend u guys not to buy this phone.its not a good phone.but its a terible phone and i hate it.hahahahahahaha.i bought w810i for a month now.it's a very good phone.i salute sony ericsson! :DD

I'd never have this style of phone again.

i have a problem with nokia 6131:(
when i open the fold the main screen stays black for few minutes .... i dont know why:(
can anyone plz tell me what's wrong with the screen and how can i solve this problem
