Got it 3 months ago, previously owned older nokia and motorola. Screen, software, reception quality and signal strength just amazing. Software in particular is fast and sooo friendly. Plenty of great features, camera ok (hey it's a phone guys, not a leica) and if you buy memory and set it to high quality you'll be fine. Yes battery life can be short for heavy use, but I cannot think of anything else negative about this model. It is also beautiful to see and touch.

I got this phone in March and replaced it yesterday. The camera is sub-par compared to other phones. The body is frail and susceptible to scratches and the External LCD will crack if it gets knocked about in your pocket. I did have some good times with the phone though... it's packed with lots of cool features. So if you're going to get it... treat it with great care and don't expect any great pictures... that aside, it's a pretty decent phone in terms of value.
If you can afford to pay a little extra, I would strongly recommend the Nokia 6300 in its place

To upgrate the firmware version of N 6131, you can do it by using PC Suite software, and ONLY by conecting the mobile to PC via a data cable. You cannot do it via bluetooth or inflared. Make sure that the cable is compatible with 6131. To unlock the mobile, try to go to a local gsm store, they normaly have everything to fix the restricted network problem.

Well..I've taken a few photos with my 6131 and i have noticed the quality is actully quite good. I took a photo of my dog and it was really clear, so everyone who is saying the camera is dodgy you may need to change the image quality to high.

I've noticed alot of people saying that the camera is really bad on this phone. The few photos I've taken on my 6131 camera have turned out really clear. You may need to change the camera setting to 'high quality'. After I did this my photos turned out alot better. It's probably just the night time shots where the camera struggles.
I would also like to know how I can download extra games onto this phone. I've tried several times and I get a message saying that games aren't available yet or not compatible with my hand set. I've even asked Nokia but they haven't gotten back to me. Can anybody help?

Hi, someone asked for the pros and cons about the Nokia 6131 and since i bought it 2 weeks ago well here's my verdict.
PROS : Beautiful 16.7 mill screen believe me u'll luv it!
Nice user interface S40 seried which you can customize !!
Great sound quality from the default headphones! i was actually suprised!
Expandable memory upto 2Gb so you can store alot of stuff.
Nice fold mechanism u even have a button 'push to open' so u dont have to use both hands.
Great rubber-like paint finishing on it's body that feels good in the hand.
The outside screen is also good and it functions semi independant from the inside screen.
CONS:
The wosrt camera phone i have ever used. I think Nokia were asleep when they made the camera dispite it being 1.3 megapixels. I was ssoooo disappointed! i wish someone told me before i bought it.
Poor video playback ! dispite it having multiple video format support and a 2.2 inch 16.7 mill screen the video playback is just sad!
VERDICT:
A very nice small light weight phone good for listening to music and radio and i still think the screen is amaizing dispite the fact that it doesnt have a protective glass. But if u want it for the camra or video playback ......... search for something else please!!

I got this phone in January. The camara is not that good, quite grainy. Battary used up quite easily. Well it is a low end phone, can't expect too much. However the sound quality is not bad, the reciever is also fine. Functions all ok. It is a low end phone, if you don't need too much functions, this is relatively a good phone.

Hi everyone
Did someone notice that camera is very poor when you take a picture in dark places or in a room with little light? In that conditions, I get some vertical lines on screen.
Like there must be a perfect light when you are taking picture???
Or is it just my phone?

Hey peoples... If you want some photos about this phone using the battery BL-5C, I can send by e-mail. You have that change some parts on this battery only, no on phone. You can gain one day in comparson with this original battery BL-4C. Only that difference that will be do, is the back cover will stuf a little, but isn´t a trouble or problem.
And I am very not happy with this phone: The plastic black turn on internal display goes out with corporeal watter (head, suor). This isn´t a paint. It´s a plastic. and the corporeal watter can demage the phone enter the internal display. It´s very bad... bye!
