I've bought this phone few months ago and it is still perfect. The opening mechanism still works like the day I bought it and it feels great. The screen is close to perfection, even if it doesnt have some kind of protection, I never had a problem with it.
The battery lasts 4 days with moderate use (calls, sms, camera, etc).
The sound is amazing.
It's such a stylist phone, very well built and designed.

its seems to be an amazing set up with everything thats wanted in a phone.
But I'm really iffy about the flip mechanism, ive noticed it has a tendancy to catch and I think it will be something that will wear out with use.

Hi,
I want to change of phone. And I still do not know which one to choose. Nokia 6131 or Samsung D600? I do prefer a clamshell but the D600 seems to be less fragile.
Moreover It has a better camera (but i don't care!) and one can read word and pdf file (this is more important).
Do you think i will be able to keep a 6131 a long time? I mean, normally, if thing go the usual way.
Not having a protection for the screen is to me a very bad sign. It says: huuu... I want to sell my phone and i don't care quality!

I've tested it for 2 months the only think i find annoying about it is that the memory is small for the amount of features it have. great camera, good big numbers for us big fingered people txting is a dream - good phone as an upgrade from the 6230 family

I really love this phone! But I have a couple of questions if anyone can answer...
I've had it a couple of months and it always automatically locked the keypad after a few secs of not being used...this function has stopped and I liked it. Anyone know how I may have turned it off, or how I can turn it on again!
My battery lasts no time at all and I'm not a constant chatterer...what's your experience?

Around the price from 6131 you have also alternative with SE phones:
for music : W550(1,3 Mpx cam)/W700(2 Mpx)
for camera : K750i (especially red)
for work : Z550(1,3 Mpx cam) or K610im(2 Mpx cam+3G)
Try to liik at this beside of course 6233/6234.

i didnt find 6131 is a good mobile. it got so many scraches when the upper part of the cell rest. because its rubber pad are very small so when u close it , it make a noise becuase of small pad and got scrach on it

Man i have the phone... the flip mechanism is ok... the only thing is that this phone has 2 main drawbacks : the camera (at night and artificial light and the battery) since u are a 6230i owner u might want to take a closer look at the 6233 (it got my attention)
The 6131 doesn't have a card included while the 6233 has a 64 mb microSD included.... both work on the same platform but in my opinion the 6233 is better: 2mp camera, it has 3G and my 6131 can't send or receive data from a motorola device...

omg this phone is so awesome, so perfect! it's jus too bad it has no camera flash and it's 1.3 MP. y can it be 2MP instead!? LOL

i have a 6230i model and i want to buy a new phone! do you think that is a good choice to change it with 6131? do 6131 have problems with the flip sistem? please answer me !!!thanks!

Notice the camera doesn't have flash......
The logic is faulty in your argument of made in china. Its dubious and unrelated to your claim of taking night shot photos. hence opinion is 100% false.

If you want more natural colour,please try SE K750i/W700 (their price are around this 6131) with 2 Mpx camera with flash. But the LED screen is 256000 colour.

W550 is a music phone,so it has only average camera but goed sound.It has also stereo speakers,among walkman series it has the loudest sound if you listen it without earset.

My wife just got one and we noticed that with all the pictures we've taken, black hair (or any black object for that matter) appears green, if not greenish!
I tried sending her an image via Bluetooth taken from my 6230i, and the picture appeared normal! Deffective camera? We brought the phone back to the store and it was immediately replaced.
But we had to choose from around 4 other 6131 units because apparently all had the same problem. The one we finally chose was the least greenish on black objects- but still greenish! My friend who had also bought a 6131 also complained about the greenish black objects. Too bad he was not able to exchange it. No he has to live with it, or sell it. Both phones purchased are made in China.

i think u might not need the protective layer.. cus its a flip phone.. if u wan it u can get it easily at any cellphone outlet
