mostly the nokia maps , fee is to pay for the spoken gps lady , that lives in your phone , free-mode is silent, and the paid-mode is more cosy , a nice little cashcow for nokia.. :)

kuboo, 27 Jul 2008why does nokia charge for agps? do they pay u.s. d.o.d. for... morethey dont charge for the gps or the agps. Those are both free. You are also allowed to download any software to be use with the gps. Nokia has made its own gps software that is also free but certain extras require a fee. These extras are available for six months on this phone. the only time you would have to pay money is if you want the extras after the six months
