funkyrosa88,
just use your card reader to transfer the MP3 files u want to the root directory of your MMC, meaning dont put it in any folder so that the default MAIN play list can see
on you phone dont forget to goto options-> playlist-> options-> refresh all tracks

When it's firstly announced, i said to myself i am gonna have this one. Because it's simple, small one also but smart and complicated inside. Before i have it i already know how to handle this N6230 and last night (October 27, 2004) i bought it and i am familiar to use it. So, Nokia 6230 is a smart and richable experince mobile.

rambo,
RS-MMC = Reduced Size MMC, it is half the size of the standard MMC... RS-MMC is comaptible with standard MMC readers and slot, but to make it fit you will need the metal adaptor, but dont worry as RS-MMC are being sold with the adaptors
Some BIG SIZE MMC- 512MB to 1GB, like Pretec can be used straight out of the box to the 6230, however, some cards will require you to format it using a card reader before you can use it with the 6230, it is case-to-case basis, not all MMC cards are the same, some have faster speed access and read/write, but most cards from 256MB, particullarly 128MB and below works fine with 6230, OOB
the worst MMC are from KODAK, it never worked with 6230

Hey Sanderman, when i bought this phone, I WANT a Series40 phone - I don't need a Series60 'smartphone' as I already own a PDA. So, I don't mind abt it not being able to load s/wares into it. The std bundle features are way way too good for a phone! The voice recorder, mp3 player, video streaming via EGPRS, EDGE and EXPANDABLE MEMORY makes it unbeatable! The folder mngmnt system is good. 65K display is clear, vivid and bright. Probably the best in Series40.
My only gripes are:
A) 128x128 is too small (I heard that the next 6230 will posh a 128x160 display, hurah!).
B) The MMC is not hot-swappable!
Another thing: having changeable cover has its +/-... good that u can change the look of yr phone, but it has creaks in between that lets dust go into your inside...! But still, its better than NOT being able to change cover at all!

Hey Unknown (get yrself a name will ya!)... use Nokia's Multimedia Player (get it from nokia.com) or if you have PCSuite, click on "View Multimedia". Open yr mpg, mov, avi, wmv or any video files (except DAT), and select "Save As" to convert it to 3GP.

Hey Risto, it's not all that bad actually. Remember that 6230 is a business (& multimedia) phone. Just like a PDA, it needs to be paired to a PC for it to be fully enjoyed. Just like my previous notes - if u use PCSuite or as 'unknown' said, BT OBEX or MobiMB, you can save just abt anything straight to yr MMC!(I hv loads of vides and >20 Mp3s in my phone now). Now that's something other phones can only dream about.
ONLY when direct file xfer (w/out using s/wares above) e.g. phone2phone, directIR2phone or directBT2phone requires the use of yr phone memory as the "temporary dock" until it's save to folder defined by u.
