Im really UNSURE to go for 6230 or K700...:(((( help me!! or should I wait for K730?? lol!!!

6230 pro/con=
+MMC card(cheaper flash), -lousy cam, -lousy vid, +/-java midp?, -no 3d jave, +good battery, +/- std 65k tft, -no symbian app(6600), +firmware easy to upgrade, +many games& 3gpp on net, + store many full 3gpp movies,- small screen, +/- too plastictily but many cover changes, -games on net is old, + large contacts

K700 pro/con=
+65k tft(higher density),+good cam,+ave vid, -low mem ((41k mb = 6~7mp3/1~2full mov/3 100mb java/the rest for contacts/theme/pic ===>is not enough)), -hard to find app on net, -hard to upgrade if phone is from china (K700c), + equalizer, + java 3d ,- bad battery,+/- more matured looks but lacks changebility, + easyier to find latest java games(eg: might&magic),- only 500 items contacts,

6230 and k700 similarity:
small phone , radio, no symbian app, has mp3, dont care bout gprs/edge,

Dream phone(will it be K730... :DDD )
: Looks like K700, has symbian ability(6600),mp3 (k700),vid cam without time limit (k700) ,flash mem (6230), good cam (K700) ,has java3d (k700) , good GUI (both), can .3gpp (both), has good internet support groups (k700), Good bluetooth connetivity (K700), full 3gpp movies,

K700 pro/con=
+65k tft(higher density),+cam,+vid,-low mem=41k mb = 6~7mp3/1~2full mov/3 100mb java/the rest for contacts/theme/pic ===>is not enough,

Hi! I am a 6230 owner and I think it's a wonderful device. With an optional 256 mb memory it becomes very useful.

Some minuses: When listening mp3 my 6230 sometimes switches itself off and on again and the music stops. Winding up music tracks is unusefully slow when listening "whole cd in one" -tracks. With one minute up winding beat goes 7,5 min forward.
Also: When T9 input is on, it is impossible to put own letter corrections into words that are written with T9. If you want to repair a letter in the middle of a word, you have to switch T9 off first. Taht slows down writing.
Also video capture is about 50 x 50 pixels four minutes, but it's better than no video.
There is no phone adapter, so you have to listen all music from basic weak bass phones, or you have to build your own interfaces. (Of course the elements are long-lasting, because they don't vibrate so much)

Taken all together: 6230 is a wonderful and versatile phone, that has lightspeed menus. When you suggest some function that includes no bigger data, you can't find time to wait. Also data moves fast according to other manufacturers' phones. There is no phone that has no drawbacks. 6230 has only few of them! So if you're thinking "Should I buy?" I recommend you to buy. If you want to ask me something, just mail me.

              to wilbert,

yes i think that is the total internal memory size, wen u add ur used and free memory together u get it, my total size of memory is 5.something, not the 6/7 like it sez in the manual, this is likely to be due to messages or applications or sumthing, not too sure...

              cheers, mAz

To Risto or any 6230 user,

just go to SETTINGS, PHONE SETTINGS, Memory Status then choose handset. I think the 'Size'refers to your total internal memory. Right guys?

I just don't know why my internal memory status increases as i put more files, it supposed to be doing the opposite.

It is not good to overload your internal and memory cards with files right? i think it will nake your phone (any phone)slower. Right guys?

Kytra: I use WinXp & PCSuite6.4 via Bluetooth. No problem accessing into the MMC. On PCSuite, just click on "Transfer Files" icon. Your WinExplorer pops up. Under MyComputer, u'll see yr phone. Just click and go to Phone Memory (B).

Risto: Bluetooth is definitely faster. But try to avoid xfering huge files >500Kb... usually ~50% success rate. I dunno, but somehow, Nokia's BT's not stable enough for that kinda job. I use card reader for mp3.

BTW, my firmware ver is 4.28

To Risto or to any 6230 user,

The 6230 do have an internal memory of 6MB (theoretically). How did you know you can only use 1.5 MB of internal memory? I noticed with my phone that the more files i saved in the memory of my phone, when i update my memory status, the size of my internal memory increases. It always say that i still got 2.3 MB of free memory and my internal memory as of now is 7.4 MB. sumbody help..
