It's a great phone overall.
BUT:
1.The Batery should be much bigger.
2.The picture are not so good.
The very good things are:
1.MP3 Player....SUPER COOL
2.U can extend memory,thats way i bought it.I wanted to buy i K700i but they are nat so good with memory
3.Video Player
4.FM & Bluetooth

hi friends i want u to solve my problem i have 6230 nokia and i have installed pc suite but the problem is that i am trying to open the file but the computer is not showing in computer i have saved many tracks video tracks

to kytra:it is quite normal,since the battery is of old technology(the blc-5c)and the phone has enough power needs.

Answer: Use PC Suite and click at "View Multimedia" icon. Open your video file (whatever format) and Save As .3GP. Simple! If you dont hv PC Suite, download 'Nokia Multimedia Player' from Nokia.com. It does the same thing.

does anybody know if i can put an IR Remote software in my 6230?
is it true that nokia are gonna release a 6230i in the near future? i read it and saw some pictures of it on the net. the ONLY difference is that it has a 1.3 MP cam and large screen!! i think they will call the model either a 6230i or 6300.

How much does your batt last?
Mine 3 days with no BT or wap but quite hard gaming (1 hr medium)and photo taking(10-20) and photo browsing. Is this normal?

From the very first moment I saw NOKIA 6230, I thought:"That is the perfect phone!"
I cherished every single action I took to put out my SIM card in it. After that a miracle happened. I turned it on and started playin with the manu and all the stuff in that cute phone. I will do anything on to have it.

this phone was brilliant on features, i loved it, but jus the look of it was a bit boring, jus like any other nokia, i like flip up phones best. but it was great that you could use ur mp3 as ur ringtones etc, and wen playing thru stereo earphones the sound was brilliant.

The screen of Nokia 6230 is not large enough.I'm satisfied with all the function,but the colour display is only 65K.I hope that the color of Nokia will improve to 250K as the rest of the other phone.

ConfusedBuyer: To play movies in the N6230, you need to convert the file to 3GPP format. This is easily done via Nokia's PCSuite s/ware that comes with the phone. It compresses to a significantly small size file.
6230 Boy: Transfer it using PC Suite's File Transfer module. (But read above first) Simple.

Just curious, how big would the full movies be? I mean do you need to compress it? I mean even a short racing video takes up at least 5-10 mb. Any limit on transfer rate? Because I was interested and tempted to buy gx32 before. But the 400kb per file transfer really pissed me off, and that phone would cost me a fortune. Anyhow, I live in Toronto, Canada. I just saw a display 6230 phone on sale for $520 CAD, that would be $388 US. IS that an ok deal? I know other places in Toronto would be more expensive.
