    Cable -> Bluetooth -> Inrared

Cable would be fastest for PC - phone and the most convenience but have to use the expensive cable from Nokia.

If only for transferring pictures, infrared would be enough though Infrared is among the slowest.

Bluetooth will be the only device between.

    example: (transfer 1 mp3 file)
    Cable: around 30 sec
    Bluetooth: 3-4 mins
    Infrared: 20-25 mins

    Regards

anonymous, youre wrong.. it HAS a VGA camera, with a resolution up to 640x480.. "dont believe me? take a look at nokia's official homepage: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,47676,00.html"

To the "unkown" person sent the message above,

The link you provided is talking about 6230, of course 6230 does have VGA camera with resolution up to 640x480.

I was talking about 6610i, READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY COMMENTS!

              to malaysian,

Not sure about the display for 6610i, hopefully will be 65K but seems most likely will be 4096.

              Display for 6230 is 65k not 256k.

Yes, you must plug in the headset to play the FM radio but not the mp3.

6610i does not support MMC and the camera is still using CIF not VGA. The resolution can only up to 352x288.

              regards

                        thanks unknown
if mp3 is good, than battery is no problem. i can always have spare one.
rather than carring another mp3 all the time.

Mark LV is right. The camera in the phones nowadays are crap. It includes the coming phone with 1.3 megapixels. However, if you are the one who will not always bring a digital camera along with you wherever you are, the phone camera function would really be very useful when you suddenly want to take a snapshot on the street.

So for phone camera function, I will also traeat it as a secondary function.

for 6230i, will the Nokia make such a phone? I hope so but I doubt that as 3G is on the go, as well as symbian OS is getting more popular. I heard from the other forum said 6230 will be the last series40 phone.

The trend for Nokia phone will be a multi-media phone, and so possibly including mp3 player, FM radio, media player, video recorder.

                          Regards

The main concern for this phone is the battery. it really won't last long if you make full use of this phone.

More precisely, I am complaining about the battery.

                              Lots of hot air here........
This isn't a perfect phone, but which one is? What some people don't understand is that phone cameras are still in the 'stone age' technologically. The issues is not so much one of resolution, as the fact that the focus is fixed, so pictures always come out rather fuzzy. Proper autofocus cameras are difficult to minuaturize, although Sharp seem to have produced one such device for the Japanese market. The next step will be to introduce optical zooms, which is even more awkward.
In anycase, in my opinion, the camera functionality, though useful, is only a secondary feature. The MP3 and radio is more interesting to me.

My wish list for a 6230i:

                              1) XGA or 1MP camera - ideally with autofocus.
                              2) Video recording limited only by memory.
                              2) Medium wave radio.
                              3) Larger screen. Ideally with 262K colours.

                              That's it!

To nepllica, mp3 player's quality is reasonablely acceptable. However the trade off is, it would really drains out the battery. So if you intends to use 6230 to replace your current mp3 player. It would not be wise to do that.

For your reference, if you play mp3 often with this phone, as well as some phone calls, the battery would only last for 2 days.

                                  going to buy this phone
only if mp3 is good enough.

i know other feature's r great. i really dont't need big sreen n carmera fuction, coz i won't be using that much. if i want big screen n good can , may be i will consider GX30/32, not SE thanx. but i heard that gx 32's mp3 player n sound quality is crap.
can somebody advise me how goood is mp3?
and is the stereo headset come with standard packages? if not is it easy to get one?

                                  cheers.

I've bought my 6230-silver yesterday. Sold my 8910i-black. I've read every document in every forum and review.

This phone is GREAT !!! it has everything. I'm sure most of you will love it by all means. Pls dont listen SE fanatics. They have nothing but P900. ;)

To Fared, I have no problem to 'paired" Nokia 6230 with P900. It can detect P900 at the phone shop.

if you suspect the phone got something wrong, bring back to the phone shop and check it. i am sure they are happy to assist you.

Generally a great phone but one thing really annoys me. I can send pictures using Bluetooth from my SE P800 to the 6230, no problems. But I cannot seem to send anything to the P800 using Bluetooth. The 6230 cannot even detect the P800 as a Bluetooth device. I find it strange that I can receive data from the P800 but I cannot send any. Has anybody encountered this problem before?

                                        Fared,
