One major thing I don't like about SE phones are only supported up to 128MB extra storage and also must use their own memory stick.
As using this phone to replace my mp3 player, I need 256MB and build in FM radio.
For the rest, I think SE is good.

Finnished, you're ONLY defending that pethetic small screen ONLY because it ISN'T any bigger...
Why opts for something less when you can get something more?... Besides, large keypad doesn't mean it's easier to use.. You can have small but thick keypad like what the T610 has and it's VERY easy to use as it has substential spacing between keys.
So then, why don't you run games and view pictures on your computer at the res of 640x480 then?
The thing is, while everyone is already at the 128x160 and is moving to the higer res sector (Even the K700 has more pixels than Nokia's Symbian phones), the 6230 is still stuck at 128x128.

Klaas, what do you mean by "it's proven" when writing about MP3 player quality? Is there a international committee judging the players' features? Please, tell me who has "proved" this thing you are referring to. Again...
I have read from several forums that the MP3 and radio quality is excellent. But that's up to our own judgment.
Again about the height of the display. Of course it looks cool to have a big display and you can see more things at once. 6230 is a very small phone when compared to competing phones and still has many unique features. It is very hard to make decent keypad and display to fit into a small case. But honestly, you very rarely need that big display when using this phone. If you need bigger display buy Nokia 6600 or 9210 or a phone from some other manufacturer. Let's see all the things I need when using THIS phone:
1) calling somebody
- no, I do not stare at the display when doing this
2) writing SMS
- Nokia has smaller font which adds several lines when writing SMS
3) listening to radio and MP3 player
- nope, don't need here either
4) taking photos
- width is 128 pixels as in many competitor's phones so it doesn't make a difference
If you get some pixels more in height what's the big deal (other than ego)? The display in 6230 is quite good anyway and I would not pay attention to its size when using the phone.

Just bought this nokia 6230, everything is perfect except the design of the phone not so nice as 6220. The TFT screen really bright and sharp and video recording is 4 minutes per recording, the expandable MMC card is good for storage, in fact can install up to 256MB. I am using the 6600 but the phone cannot receive chinese sms and no radio functions, also video recording only 10 seconds. It's a good buy and nokia can comes out the express better the current one, I think this phone will be a killer or dominant to other phones.
Thanks.

I just bought the phone from the shop. If anyone have any specific question, you may ask me and I will try to find the answer in my phone. :)
Having said that, don't expect too much about the loud speaker's sound quality. It's just not good at all. However, the headset is fine.

And to add to Finnished's comment about screen...
Why are you saying it's no use having height?... is it because your beloveed 6230 doesn't have it? =P...
It's good to have height.... why?...
Look at the T610, while you're doing your normal stuff like java, sms and all, you can still see your battery status and reception.. also, you have more space for the menu option at the bottom.. giving more space for the center!

I just found out something about the K700...
It's mp3 player/radio works like it does on window...
You can have the phoneplay your songs/radio while running on the background at the same time sending a sms or playing games!!..
Hah.. can the 6230 do that?

i tested the phone in the philippines and at first glance the phone looks good but i when try the ff. function:
1. the camera picture is good but the screen is too small to appreciate.
2. the video recording is not good, poor resolution and pixel explode.
3. mp3 and FM radio quality is not as stereo sound as i expected.
4. the quality of the exterior body is not also good..too plastic looking , 6220 is much better looking.
5. i like the phone grid menu and the mmc expansion
5. overall, the features are impressive on small phone but the function and quality is disappointing.

To Finnished.
The K700i is not a MP3 player, that is why SE did not implant the MSD slot.
The SE K700i support MP3 file's that will not say it will have good MP3 player like Ipod.
But the MP3 player is very good quality than the 6230,that's proven.

If you read the SE web site on K700 you would know that you cannot use K700 as a decent MP3 player. You can only store 14 MB on the memory! That's like three songs! Unless your favourite band 'NSync doesn't make more hits (which it won't) you'll be okay though..
Ppl, there's no point having more pixels in height as it doesn't make the picture any bigger in most cases. In most phones you cannot turn the phone landscape and take photos or watch something.
6230 is extremely small considering it's features. If you don't believe go to a mobile phone store.

lalalalal while this stupid phoe costs $500 and comes with 32mb and you want to upgrade mroe memory will be another $50 for 128 or something and will be $550 while the k700 only $350 but has everything the 6230 has plus more with munch better screen which higher res than the 7610, nicer menu and all. only down memory, but 32mb is good enough!
stupid people go buy expensive nokia for only memory when got much cheaper alternative which is better in everything except memory!
