I have been using this phone for some months now, and I am very pleased with it. I have installed a 1GB MMC card in it (which it btw can handle without any problem, it just isnt able to format this size of card so you'll have to get a cardreader for that) and I'm also using it as an MP3 player now which works just fine. (If you want to do so again you have to get a MMC cardreader cause it'll write MP3's to the card ALOT faster then it can with the card still in the phone, luckily these readers are very cheap).
The radio works fine, the keyboard is good, not too small, the display is clear, the sound quality is good. The only thing that misses is a progress bar when using bluetooth to transfer a file, you just cant see how much progress it has made, but thats only a small inconvenience.

Yeah nish, its true that the 6230 doesn't support cards nemore than 256mb(it won't play mp3 but will take pictures...strange...), cos its got something to do with the firmware. As much as i noe, the Nokia 6230s made after 2004 have some dodgey problem with the firmware. Like the bluetooth can go dodgey, and maybe u've found another problem a new firmware.

Just check by pressing *#0000#. My fone is b4 05', but i heard the firmware after that was crappy, dunno if they upgraded the firmware again after that, but best of luck getting ur mp3s working.

Can it get any better than this. A device that is not any ordinary phone. This sexy thing has bluetooth, radio, camera, memeory card reader and a MP3 player. Seriously, how cool does it look listening songs from your mobile other than CD, MP3 or even iPod player. This might look like a simple phone but this thing has everything built in it. Right now this generation is upto big screen phones like my buddy has Nokia 6260, but this phone with its sleek design and perfect keypad gives you that up-tight and up-class look. Honestly, I will never trade this with any other phone.

@ PFMY you must make shure you don't have got to much data on your phone. You must move it to your memory card. The blue tooth save it to your phone memory. Maybe there is a way to send the bluetooth files directly to your card. But i haven't found that yet.

I got my Nokia6230 from a second-hand store. I had to swap my Nokia6600 and I could only say that I am so happy with it. The phone's sound is crisp. It's compact and easy to navigate. I am more than happy to have this than my previous phone.

Nokia 6230 is fully loaded; has everything one needs in a phone. However, the sreen scratches too quickly and that affects the view. I guess Nokia company should see to this problem in the future.

Hey, please don't generalize the entire Nokia 6230 just with your phone. I think your phone might be faulty. You should send it to the nearest Nokia care centre and let them have a look. My phone is sending files with bluetooth fine!

Yes, 6230i's keypad can be use on 6230. I've tried it.
No, it cannot read wav. files, unlike 7610 and 6670.
The length of Mp3 does not matter. What matter is when you transfer your huge size Mp3 over to your phone. It uses up your Phone memory NOT your MMC. Which means you can have 400mb free space on your mmc card but the 1.6mb free space on your phone will not allow files to be transferred over. On the other hand, you can use the cable or card reader to solve the problem.
The maximum recording time is 3minutes for voice recording.

6260 is a symbian phone. If you are looking for a phone with OS then go for it. However, symbian phones are usually heavier, bulky and to me, fragile. 6230 is not symbian but has everything that you won't realise it's not symbian. It has better ergonomics as compared to 6260.

I have been using this phone for more than a year now. I would say that this is an All-in-One phone. It may not look as attractive but trust me, it's very practical and economical. I recommended this phone to my friends and true enough, all of them bought it!

My search for a truly functional, practical and value-for-money phone that has the least compromises always ends with 6230....Still top of the class for me more than a year after
