Anyone got a program I can download to adjust my tones? I dont like sending mp3 to my phone and just have the start off of the song ring, i want a certain part, but the pc sync for nokia apparently only allows midi? I need the mp3 format

I aint much for candybar phones. I prefer flip ones instead BUT this is the best candy bar phone I ever had. It has everything i want in it and adds to boost. Camera, vid-camera upto 3 minutes of recording time, fm/am radio, personal organiser (palm pilot), games (though i still need to figure out how to get it free), quad band (take it anywhere i want) and most of all, it has an mp3 player with the extra mmc slot (its like an ipod but cheaper)

I tested hundred of different phones, but for me this is one of the best phone ever, trust me, has everything, is not the perfect phone, not big screen, but is a very nice TRULY WORKING phone, with a lot of options. There are a lot new phones on market with upgrades, but this phone still on top over many cellphones.

Display/ring volume limitations. The phone is very good, the features are nice and so forth.

My gripe is with the volume of the ring. My previous phone could be set so I could hear it ring from another room when my phone was buried in my purse. That's what I need. With this phone I can only barely hear ANY ring (I had to go for the shrill, high register ringtones) at top volume even if my purse is sitting on the passenger's seat in the car right next to me. Traffic noise is enough to drown it out at close distance if the ring is muffled by a purse.

Also the display was frustrating. The color selections for the bars that indicate battery and satellite reception don't provide any contrast - they're all mid-color range instead of dark or light. So no matter what wallpaper you select, you have a problem seeing the bars.

Aside from those things, I really like the phone.

Love the phone. About a month ago I upgraded and got a Siemens.. ugh that was the worst phone ever. I finially resorted to buying this phone out right at full price but it's so worth it. I had to resort back to the Nokia.. the old stand by.

As for the question about games. The best way to add new games on any phone is via the wireless internet.. though it does cost per game and per data. There are some free java games out there that can be installed free useing bluetooth, IrDA, or a data cable but I have found they are never that great.

To PETE who said that this phone is old and we should move on, that's a stupid remark because this phone STILL has all the latest technology out there. As 'Johar' said "i don't like any other new phones to buy coz my 6230 has got all features pre-installed". So PETE, what difference does a newer model makes if an older model has the same and even more features ?
Another user said that this will be Nokia's BEST phone for a very long time. Nokia made this phone it's FLAGSHIP phone and to my knowledge, it's STILL their FLAGSHIP phone.

Great phone. The display is excellent 'though the colur schmes could be more realistic. Dispite the numerous features the standard Nokia simplicity has been kept. Signal strengh is very good, it'll catch the signal where there is only a hintch of it. Only problen is the menu key its a bit unpractila to use when it has to be pushed in the middle because tehe is nothing that woukld make it easier to apply teh pressure onto the centre.

Well atlast i can say that only one phone in the market which got all features we need for fun and business.Nokia 6230 is the best phone i ever seen yet.I buyed this phone 9 months ago and still now i don't like any other new phones to buy coz my 6230 has got all features pre-installed.Phones like symbian OS you can download and install softwares, but they crash your phone but in 6230 you don have to install anything.

My black Nokia 6230 was my first nokia. It has been in service about a year and I have nothing but praise for it. It performs 100 per cent satisfactorily and appeals to me like it did the day I bought it. Excellent value (cheaper than you think), practicality (very user friendly), solid construction (i've dropped it dozens of times), responsive and high functional (where else can you get a combination of high quality FM radio, stereo media/mp3 player/equaliser, mp3/midi/real tone ringtones, variable length video camera, voice recorder, image editor, wallpaper/screensaver composer, personal organizer, HTML web browser, IR, bluetooth, pop-port, memory card slot that takes up to 512 mb.....) all in a handy package that easily fits into your palm or pocket? Minor gripes about screen size or battery life are not enough to deter me from what is, in my estimation, Nokia's best and closest attempt to the perfect phone.
There may be snazzier phones around but only a few can compare with the appeal of a classic like 6230. It is the kind of phone that appeals more to the head than the heart.
