Never tried playing a 'real' file, possibley because I know it can't play. I have even tried to play mp4 but couldn't succeed. Only played 3gp format. Actually couldn't find a good mp4 converter. Found one which converter to mp4 but the phone could not play it. Still trying to crack this one. If anyone ever played a mp4 file in this phone, please post.

Compared to 6230, these are the main disadvantages i've noticed:
1- Pictures taken by camera in 6230i are darker than they are on 6230.
          2-Menus are slower
3-Changing themes change ringtones to default. But it's a good phone.

            Paul,

If Real Player cannot be installed on this phone, is it that we can't hear or watch real files?

Aaaahh good to be back again. Good to see many new forum members.

              Hakim,
Realone player can be installed on a Symbian based phones and not the java ones and as Nokia 6230i is a java based phone so you can't install Realone player dude.

              Richard,
No dude, the 6230i doesn't have a display brightness adjustment setting.

the phone has a display brightness and contrast after taking pictures, there seems to be no brightness option for the screen... the 6230i has its own music player so one cannot use realplayer, it is not compatible unlike symbian phones.

to 6230i owners, do you notice some sort of a "pop" sound when u hear songs on your mp3 player? its like a soft static sound when you press forward and backward when changing tracks, not really very noticeable until it was brought to my attention by my cousin and i listened carefully and it was there... thanks in advance

NOKIA phones are safest worry free investments and they have always thought ahead of the users needs. My first phone was the 6110 which was a woderful and very rugged phone with more feature than I could use. So when you want to buy a bagfull of surprises buy Nokia. Huge support network in India. Nokia is a wee bit expensive but wonderfully trouble free. Smile if you've just baught a Nokia.

I own the Nokia6230 right now and loving it. I was interested in upgrading to 6230i but I found it is not worth the upgrade. I love the music player in 6230, the 1-click play/stop, fwd/backward feature and the speed of the 6230. I was disappointed on seeing the 6230i music player without the 1-click features. It is similiar to larger nokia phones because you have to first go to the button and then press another key to activate that function. The camera of 6230i is good (better than 6230) the screen is crisp and bright. The themes option is good. But overall, I'm not considering to upgrade to the 6230i.
