:D again went for a holiday.

SE K750i has only 1 minute dictaphone whereas 1 Hour for Nokia 6230i.

Do not try to use BLC-6 battery in this phone.

Sound quality in Nokia 6230i is NOT worse as compared to SE K750i. It did have bass.. and clarity in mid and high frequencies which is frankly ENOUGH for a music-on-the-go requirement.. in fact more than enough.

I am buying the phone soon.. as soon as I have my next week off.

    Hi all,

I have been using the K750i for 4 mths and have recently reembraced nokia (6230i) and here are my thoughts on the 2 ph.

    K750i:
    - Excellent sound, image and camera quality
    - Fast menu, yes, fast, I was quite amazed
    - Very fast loading of the memory card
    - Very fast opening of java progs

    disadv:
    - The key pads are little hard and tacky for my taste, but merely my preference
    - dust can easily creep in the screen
    - hearing volume is a little soft for my taste.

    6230i:
    - Its an overall good piece of phone with lots of functions packaged onto the ph, but I hardly called this the best ph, sure given its lower price, its a very good buy.
    - Menu slightly lag, but acceptable
    - Opening of java prog and MMC card quite slow compared to k750i, the chip speed is evidently slower.
    - the sound quality via the headset is a lot worse than k750i, yes worse, where the k750i can be compared to a cheap ipod, the 6230i fails.
    - smaller screen and not as visually appealing as the k750i, but again its personal taste and the 6230i is "just" acceptable.

Nonetheless, I will stay with 6230i simply due the feel factor.

Buying a ph used to be easy back in the 8210 days, nokia was the best and everyone knew it.

Nowadays, nokia needs to improve on many fronts and competitions are so good (samsung, SE) which makes comparision down more to taste....oh well...

one more thing, SE has a very useful menu, for example, when pressing the call button, it list the recently made calls, but if you click left you can also see the missed calls etc all on the same page, while nokia needs to peruse thru its "user friendly" menu.

and yeah, don't get me started abt the default ascending ringtone.

sorry for the long yap, but feel free to comment.

    Cheers

Great job with this Nokia in spite of some words that this phone would be a 'junk'. I can't believe this. Anyway, I intend to buy one soon; it's so good... And one more thing: a mobile phone must be only a mobile phone and not an all in one !

                Jags,
This phone is intended to be used with only BL-5C batteries. So no luck in using other batteries, it may damage the phone.

                  Pinak,
Good to see you back again.
                  Good on your report too.
If battery is the problem, can BL6C(new one coming in the N series,Eseries) be used to solve this issue? Will the same be compatible.?

                      Andrey,
the Nokia 6230i plays mp3 stereo fully. Its sound is one of the best in these days's phones .So don't worry.

                      April,
No you can't lock any file or folder in this phone. You can only password protect the MMC, that too only other people can't use your MMC in their phone or extract data from it. Bye.

Good to see you back again Pinak. So did you get the phone?? Bye...Peace.

the display is one of a kind. it is very sharp and crisp. the mp3 sound kills other phones. the memory can get full. iam using a 1gig mmc.the music player and radio are good. i belive its the best phone on the market that is not a (symbian) phone so u dont have to worry about bugs!!!!!

Suddenly, I found myself lost with no posts seen on the front page. hehe..

Tested NOKIA 6230i to its fullest:

                          1. Very good audio quality
                          2. A Good camera - Compare price with K750 and W800 n stuff

                          3. Good radio, all in one features.
                          4. Looks and keypad excellent - I am repeating this.

The only con is that the battery. Take my word. Medium usage 48 hours drain. Heavy usage 42 hours drain. Light usage 60 hours drain. Just because of the heavily beautiful screen.. battery life suffering.

                          Go for this phone.

EVERYONE get ready for NOKIA 6233! it has much bigger screen (i think it will be 320 x 240 pixels, series 40 3rd edition) and it will support macromedia flash (lite) edition, which means excellent themes, icons, user interface! Other features still to be unknown.. here's the link! you'll a see nokia's next gen phones with macromedia flash lite support! I hope it has 3mp camera!

Can anyone tell me, if battery life is the problem in this (all features included)phone, can the upcoming BL6C batteries of E series be used in this? In that case, will the standby/talk time increase?
