Hi,
I bought the Nokia 6230i and using it.I feel that its a great phone for all the music lovers!! I have a question here..I am not able to hear RealMedia files i.e (.rm) files..Any suggestions how we can play it on my Nokia 6230i ???
Another question in the Power Save mode,the display of the phone we have a digital clock,Can we change the font of this as it is very small and not visible at all !!
How can we have a date on the screensaver mode ??
Would really appriciate if some one can answer my questions

With the latest E Series by Nokia, It's Symbian version is 9.1 ! (From 7 -> 8 -> 9.1)
Nokia is marching ahead and there seems to be no end to it.
But 6230i will remain a masterpiece ! A powerhorse inside it's small size.

Symbian is an emerging platform. Earlier version 7 came then nowdays it's version 8. You need to manage the Symbian Operating System yourself and be prepared when it goes down because of viruses. Getting Nokia assistance means spending time for phone's repair. On 6230i, Nokia has its own standard GSM phone software (Operating System).
With a symbian phone you can do more than is possible with a normal phone. Why not buy a mini laptop or a better PDA? It can do 100 times more than a symbian phone.
K750i is also not a symbian phone.

This phone has a software problem even on V3.4. The problem causes the phone ring to become ascending (even though it still displays as "ringing") after using voice commands or using the cable hands free kit. The ascending mode ramps up the ringing volume very gradually over 30 seconds by which time you may have missed your call ! The only way to get the phone working normally again after using voice commands is to switch it off an on again. Worst still, is that there is no way of knowing that it has gotten itself into the ascending ring until you discover you have missed a number of calls.

i had nokia 6230 and someday when i angry with my wife, i smash that phone to the floor, and what heapen? it broken, totaly broken, the lcd display, speaker, battery, casing seprate away. but my son put piece per piece and put it all together, amazing! my 6230 ringing with broken lcd, and i use it till now (i don't fix it), so i hope 6230i is stronger than 6230. thanks nokia, you've made amazing phone!

nokia 6230i is a great fone. i can download coll themes, tones and many more. But the quality of the resolution in the video mode is not that good. I can only rate it 4 for its video resolution. I also find it hard to find free games for this fone.. Wer can i find it?

i have the 6230i and my gf has a LG C3320, i can send her mms but i cant open any mms she sends me, it says the file format is not suppoted. how can i fix this?? she can send mms to other people, is it just my phone?? help... how can i open her mms...reply to my email please... thanks heaps

I owned this 6230i twice, thought the next one may not has any problems and eventually sold it when the N70 arrived. Bought the new N70 and is much better in term of all aspect, furthermore N70 is also quite small but very powerful phone and radio, MP3/4 very clear stereo sound.
When I use 6230i, I found that the ringing and msg tone is always at ascending tone even set to loud. (was told by service it's normal but to me it's adnormal). N70, the ringing and sms tone very loud & clear (64 polyphonic).
The picture you take from the phone looked very sharp on the phone screen (cos small) but when you transfer to PC on big screen sometime snowzy. N70 has a 2 megapixels, picture is super sharp and with built-in flash light & night mode, no problem for indoor and even better with sliding cover protection.
On video recording mode, cannot set night mode so indoor very dim video clips. N70 video recording very sharp and has 3 resolution (128X96, 176X144 & 352X288) & 20 times digital zoom even for video recording.
The sms msg sorage is limited, about over 10O over, the phone start to appear screen messages full (need to delete) whereas N70 you can select to store all the sms on phone or mmc card (unlimited).
6230i is a good phone but lack of functions as N70 is latest symbian phone with all the microsoft applications, acrobe, full chinese dictionary, etc.
Given the size of N70 is much smaller than the traditional symbian phone, I think it will be better to buy a good better woith everything and pay a bit more. Can use longer, no need to change so often that saves money as well.
In addition, N70 package comes with USB Data Cable and a bettert stereo earpiece.
This is my opinion and the Choice is yours.

hi, is it true what crazyfor6230i says... i have this for and it keeps going off. the local agent says it could be a software problem. im trying to get the updated version 3.4, but they say still the broblem could be there. please let me know if any of you have any news about this...
