One More thing about Symbian. Since it is an OS and it supports emails also, hence there is a possiblity of spam emails increasing more than the case today. Also Mobile Viruses will make the Symbian OS go down and the phone's OS will have to be reinstalled again. You lose so much time due to this.
Nokia 6230i is not a Symbian OS phone hence it is protected against future viruses and it packs in so many features...

Symbian OS -
First of all 6230i is not a Symbian phone.
Symbian is an operating system for phones just like Windows / Linux is for Computers. With Sybmian OS you can install and remove applications / 3rd party softwares. Hence the phone does more than its regular limitations. for eg most phones do not play WMA files. It's possible to install an application for Sybmian which has drivers for WMA etc and then it can play even MPEG, AVI, MIDI, RMI, OGG, WAV, AU, SND, AIF.... you name it. You can install Office viewers or editors also and work with your spreadsheets. It's also possible to install Messengers, File Managers, Painting Softwares, even control your TVs using the symbian device such as Nokia 6600 6630 as a remote control etc etc etc. The list is endless. During the coming days most softwares will be available for Symbian which are today available for Windows. 6230i is not a symbian phone. Symbian is itself is an emerging platform, it has not evolved completely and handsets are rarely crossing 200MHz processors. 3G is also a new technology which will use video and broadband internet's capabilities. 4G is already coming.... See http://www.symbian.com and http://www.3g.co.uk/ and http://www.4g.co.uk/
Microsoft is also not behind and has already introduced Windows Operating System Phones using Windows Mobile 2003 Operating System and Windows Mobile 2005
See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devices/smartphone/apac.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/5/default.mspx
Things are changing fast....

Complaints:
Lots of dust on the screen. It's a pain to clean it, only to have dust come back in after a few days.

Hi nick, if u want to connect the phone to the PC, u need windows 2000 or XP. Even if u use the USB cable, the cable drivers donot function in win98 and ur phone will not be detected in win98. for USB support u must have atleast an 845 intel chipset motherboard. USB support does not workwell with previous chipsets (810/815). non intel chipset boards like VIA or others for AMD processors must support USB, i have not tested them myself but i'm sure for the Pentium4 processor boards
