Oh Sunny, what a shame? Are you sure it isn't a fault with you and not the phone? I find it very user friendly - it's the type of phone even a simpleton could use.

Hi blade, thanks for your recommendation of "sound forge", but unfortunately its also 30 days trial only....I still wish that some fans who are interested in trimming can provide the real free link...
Thanks !!

Hi Gani,
wat u need to do is when saving a file on the memory card in its images folder for example, instead of clicking the center button, click options(left click button) and say open folder. Then u can save it in the desired folder.

Gani,
First of all create a folder in the MMC with the name you wish. Then select the camera and click options. There select Image storage. It shows Default folder. Select it then you can choose between Default and Other folder. Select Other Folder. Then when you see the memory card is selected in BOLD click options and then 'open folder'. Then simply select the folder you created at the beginning. One thing is that when you do this your video clips and the images get stored in that single folder only. But when it is selected Default the images and the video clips are stored in the Images and Video Clips folders in the phone memory respectively. Hope this helps. Peace.

I have been using various handsets and wish to switch over to Nokia. I have few models in mind including 6230i.I am not interested in MP3, Camera,GPRS etc.,My predominent concern in a mobile phone is ring volume, signal strength and audio quality. Can any one suggest me a handset with loud ring volume, good signal strength and exceptional speech clarity?
Thanks,
Ish.

Can I sync this with Entourage contacts and calendar on my mac? Or do I need to buy special software?

Great phone, got all I need. The only problem is when i save a file on the memory card (MMC) like picutre or video, i can not select the folder to save. it always save on the root directory of the MMC card. Anybody who knows the trick to save on a chosen folder on the MMC card using the phone? I can do it using my PC but it's an added process. Even if i move something from the phone memory to the MMC card, I can only put it in the root dir of MMC card.

Dream Come True.Awesome phone.Simply luved it.I was opting for an i-pod but it just gives me music (best quality, though).
What i felt wud suite me is a multimedia toy which can give me good MP3 music output,FM stereo as im a radio listener, mpixel cam (average). But i got more...video player,a voice recorder, bluetooth,IR port (which many latest cells lack),kool games and a sexy design.
Compact, kool and multipurpose.
The only time i thought i made the right choice.Thanx GSMArena.Cheers! people and EnJoY the experience.
6230i rocks :D

VodaBen,
I have a question regarding the playlists. Does your music player show different directories and then the songs inside them or does it show all the tracks in one list irrespective of the separate folders you create. Just now I tried using the Nokia Audio Manager and transferred 4 mp3s in one folder but my phone's music player still shows the tracks in one list only with the other songs in the other directories. Regards.

guys n gals,
you CAN create multiple playlists - i have.
i did it using the pc suite & bluetooth. After i copied the music on via a card reader. (quicker that way)
You CAN use a whole MP3 file as a ringtone, but it's not the smartest thing to do. your phone can't ring for 3 minutes... better to trim out the best part. saves space too.
A tip on MP3 ringtones - save it on the phone not memory card. that way it won't get reset all the time.

you can have a max of 2gb mmc memory if you buy the specific card from "moby memory" they assure you it works. you can get 1gb and 2gb cards! a very good plus point!

to install a 3.5mmm adapter in the std HS3 Nokia headset, I refered to Howards Forum. It's really easy DIY stuff, actually. you just need a soldering iron (which u can get from supermarkets).
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=349289&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
the adapter that i use came together with a set of Philips headphones. you'd notice it from the packaging. if you spoil yr headphone in the process, don't worry, there are a lot of HS-3 headset for grabs at lelong.com.my at very cheap prices (where owners are selling it off coz there're using b'tooth headset). Good luck!

Christine, the way I feel is that the 6230i's sound quality is really ggod, no doubt about that. But I completely agree with NokiaMia about the headphone factor. Hearing music on the Nokia headset doesn't give you the feel of hearing an ipod. But with those earphones the 6230i sounds good then imagine what the best pair of headsets would do? SE W800 is the phone I am looking forward to being a Nokia fan. Lets see what can be done but I can assure you that I am not leaving my 6230i, I just love my phone. Another thing if you dont want to keep 6230i then you should go for the W800. Its music player is really awesome and the camera is the best available in the market (among the cellphones). But if you are in love with your 6230i then I would say go for an Ipod. Thats it. You let NokiaMia and me know that you decided. Take care.
