Somebody was complaining about his phone not asking about the data storage facility on plugging the DKU-2 cable. Well I don't have an answer for that but the strange problem started occuring in my phone also. On plugging the datacable my phone used to prompt whether I wish to use the phone as a storage device or not but suddenly for a few days I noticed that it has stopped prompting. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this?

this phone can function with up to a 2GB memory card but it may be a bit slower to load up all of the songs as there is so many. the reason it says up to 512 is because nokia have only one cable and it only supprots up to 512mb. Look on mobymemory.com for more info.

Overall, the model seems to be a good one .Offers almost everything that one could want in a compact package. But the battery life is patehtic.Mine barely lasts for two days with minimal use ..This despite having got it serviced and the battery changed..
This is the biggest minus point .

TO HARISK
Go to www.nokia.co.uk and download the drivers for the DKU cable. When downloaded is completed "run" it. Then go to settings on phone then to Connectivity then couple cable to computer and to phone. The phone screen will say "Use phone as Data storage device?" click accept on phone screen ( if it does not say this then click on "USB Data Cable" on phone screen)
Then see if this works.
Cheers.

Hi Kewl,
thanks for your help, even i agree with u that this is more of a software issue than a hardware issue. It may be feature also to protect the speaker and to prevent the person from being startled when the phone rings at max volume. The ringer tone ascending can be compromised but the SMS tone starts at a very low volume maybe level 2 and after quite a long gap increases suddenly to level 5. If u use any of the default SMS tones,u r sure to miss ur messages as by the time the volume shoots up the tone has already stopped playing. I use a small size MP3 file as a ringtone sothat atleast i can hear my message arrivals. Besides these issues the phone is blast, the sound quality is very good with the speaker as well as the headset, radio's just perfect, however the equalizers aren't to responsive, but no complaining this is a phone not an IPOD. The screen quality is very good and camera good. The memory options are just fine for any user. My brother wants to shift to a new set, he says he'll go in for a 6230 as he's not much into the camera thing, but the 6230 sure is a lot louder than 6230i.
