i dont have BT, using IR itself. also have Win2000 Prof on my laptop (no XP).
IR-Internet works fine if no PC-S installed, but as soon as i install - it couldnt 'connect' to ir-modem !!
(currently uninstalled PC-S !)
also if u/other can help me to start pop3 Email working plsss....plss.... (read my before post for err msgs)

The reason why you cannot use dial-up networking via bluetooth or some other, is because XP has a built in dial-up thingie that collides with the Nokia one. So use the Nokia dial-up networking and keep out from using them together. However, the sync and such things can run together with XP dialup. I personally had really really hard time configuring it, but the pcsuite has the "bluetooth settings"/"new connection" wizard, which guides you through the process brilliantly and I think it also takes advantage of the XP one, so it should work like this.

I personally does not have this phone yet and looking at purchasing it but I had the Nokia 6230 and I loved it but unfortunately dropped it and the screen was totally damaged..I loved the phone and I can't wait to have another one. It had great features and it was perfect for my personal use.

Hi, y'day got this rocking handset - N6230i - its just superb - believe me. i got in INR 15150/- Mumbai-India (w/Bl & Wrnty)
after a day's workout with Orange, finally got basic & adv. GPRS working on handset, even working MMS.
MY config : v 3.3, 21-04-05, RM-72, GSM P1.1
made: 06-2005
now abt the problems:
1) configured a POP3 email acct...i could very well receive my email to handset.
but when i try to create & send a email from h/p itself - it says error "STOP String index out of range: - 2" & finally no email out is send
even when i say Save Draft my email...it gives "Stop ERROR" & doesnt save it
i still say, receiving email is not problem
are all the emails & MMS stored only on phone mem...cant be moved to Card ??
surfing wap & http sites not problem - quite decent enuf.
2) now abt PC-Suite & connecting laptop for internet :
2-a) firstly had downloaded 6.5 from web & installed. did the reqd modem sets - but couldnt connect Internet - error ".. not connecting to device..."
2-b) even used 6.4 from CD in my package...still same problem of not connecting internet from laptop
Note: here Modem Query didnt work - said coundnt open port !!
but when i uninstalled PCSuite, had still modem driver loaded in Windows2000. this time i could connect via h/p modem & browse on laptop !!!
can anybody spend some time on these critical issues....thanks a lot in advance

Well Rehman,Salam.. If u ask me.. i'ave got a nice information abt all these cellular phones..and have used the best ones..i'll advise u to buy sony erricson 750i..
it rocks big time.. it has a bettr camera.. better sound clarity

this phone is the best nokia provided so far,but the batery isn't so good,but hi is the best phone ever, good pictures, but not so good videos!!it's all you need!!!!

best pic and sound quality is the K750i
the 6230i has got a mono speaker. but the headset is stereo.
biggest prob with this phone is small screen and the K750i is much better for less money

Does anyone have the problem with muted ringtones from their user groups? I've assigned 12 different user groups, each with their own ringtones, but every now and then, when a specific group user phones me, no tones, though it shows the right user group image. I then removed that specific user, add it back, it rings fine. However, it still happens every now and then, its mute again, happens to various different users & groups. I've called the Nokia helpline, they are not aware nor heard of this problem, but I have seen another user on this site having the same problem. My firmware version is 3.30, bought it last month in Hong Kong (where I live).
This is causing me to miss quite a number of calls. The other problems like the phone's light comes out now and then, plus poor battery life is not a concern like the ringtone problem I am having.

Tried working with the video files and converting them to mpeg4 format but in vain. Can anyone tell me what format is it actually? I mean to say the extension. Is it '.mpeg4' or what? A five letter extension?? Can't be. Its also not .avi cause avi is not supported by the 6230i. Please any information about converting wmv or avi files to mpg4 files will be appreciated. thanks.
