        After trading in my 6230 for a 9300 then a 8800 and now back to a 6230i - i am happy again.
The battery seems to last pretty well- i am a high volume user and so far so good.
        cant complain.

                        Hi Paul,
I don't really understand, I just went to download.com & found the "MP3 EasySplitter Trial". It can work but files must below 5MB.
Maybe u can direct me to the actual software/location if better one available. Thanks.

                                  Hi Every One,
It seems that we all r in the same boat. the ascending tone problem is a real pain in the neck. It may not matter much for the ring tone but its very annoying for the message tone. The volume is very low for the message and the volume cranks up after quite a delay, by that time the message tone has already ended. i just got a replacement set on the 30 june and i have submitted it back to the service centre for this problem. my earlier set also had the problem of rebooting. I asked the service persons for it and they tried all software updates (they tried something called BP version 62 to 60). the set i received as a replacement had version 3.3, the service persons installed v3.25 saying that they received a mail from Nokia saying that the v3.3 had problems and they were instructed to install v3.25. with v3.25 my phone has started rebooting at video playback. My earlier phone also has the problem of rebooting even with v3.3. both my sets were of the manufacturing date of 6 Jan'05. I think the whoe lot was defective. i'm waiting for nokia's response.I've checked a number of online forums and a lot of them report these problems with 6230i but a few users don't seem to have any problem at all even at firmware v3.23. It's said that the phones made in hungary are the best lot of these with minimal complaint.

                                        Hey Rich,
You can use MP3 EasySplitter. I personally use this software to cut mp3's into small pieces for the ringtones. You can set start and end positions of the mp3 while its playing and thus split the file. I find it very convenient as I can decide which part to take for the ringtone. There are other softwares also but I find them inaccurate, you set a start position in them but they paly a little more or less thus ruining the piece. Cool MP3 Splitter is one of them. Anyways enjoy with your ringtones Buddy.
