Statement below is against the opinion given by charger man:
I am a user of Nokia 6230i and i feel that the original battery is not really long lasting but how about other battery?
I had bought a Li_polimer battery and this phone can last more than 1 day for high usage(5-6 hours of MP3)
So,why not buying this phone??
Just change the battery will do...
For me...The battery can last around 2 days + for low usage....

Hi it's me again Charger Man. Still remember me? The man who always bring the charger beside the 6230i because the phone only have an unless 12 hours operating even in low-uses. Trust me : Please DO NOT buy this produsct or you'll be disappointed later. Some of the opinions have a positively comment about this phone but once again TRUST ME: Nokia 6230i is not your great choice to own.
    - The battery is SUCKS,
    - The power management is SUCKS,
    - Sometime the GPRS failed to operated and definitely the MMS cannot works if the GPRS failed.

This hanndset is the ultimate device for the basic user that has some sort of knowledge about technology.not to mention, it is very durable...just be mindfull about the screen if it falls often...apart from that, smothe sailing. bluetooth,infrared,am/fm radio,64mb mmc,20mb internal memory,music/media player..and much more..1 of nokia,s BEST.

I think the phone's function rocks! But those people out there who are unhappy with your phone, your warranty is not a bogus one!!! Go down to the Nokia Care Service Centre nearest to you and you can tell them to do a software reflash for you, hardware problems can also be solved with the replacing of LCDs, Speakers etc. This phone is fine after you service it... For those first batch phones. And the latest software currently is V.3.70, and you can go down, tell the staff your problems, and let them solve it for you guys! Don't give up on this phone just because it hangs temporarily.

                  Hi.

I have to agree with ChargerMan. If you're lucky, you'll get a great package. If NOT, then it's SUX! I have the same problem with ChargerMan, the battery doesn't last long, around 40h the best with Low Usage. It gets worse if I charge it with the Fast Charger. Having low/no signal also eats battery.

I believe there's power management failure on this product. Not all, but it's quite a lot to see here. The battery is actually fine, just the power management system in it. For my phone, when the battery level gets down, the screen light on for 5-10 seconds.

THE BAD THING : I have sent complaint letters to Nokia Asia Pacific and also Nokia Headquarter in Finland, and they DIDN'T DO Anything about it. Not to mention the local Nokia office.

My recommendation, just stay away from this phone.. it's one of the Nokia greatest phone but yet also one with the most failure product. I think I'll just sell it in a few months after some new models coming. SE K750i/W800i looks great but I'm kinda not into SE.

good phone - but not designed for people who use the PC to connect to it for everything!!! i had 8310 previously and enjoyed the PC Suite features of browsing messages when the phone is not connected, 6230i doesn't allow that.
you cannot browse anything if the phone is not connected - so if you loose your phone you are stuffed - nothing on the PC you can access.
the calendar view is ok - but lacks the daily view that 8310 had - that was much better - showing birthdays etc in small icons.
the PC Suite folder "Nokia Phone Browser" shows up under all profiles of the computer - this is crap - if there is more than one profile on a PC then this is not a good idea.
no way to upgrade or get messages from the old phone to the new phone or software.
for people using PC Suite not recommended at all.
PS: This observation is just from 2 days using it!!! Im sure there is more to come.

Software fault?? I've had this model replaced 3 times now as the ringtone becomes very soft (practically inaudible). Patient enough to try and resolve this issue one last time before exchanging for a different model.

                      Possible Solutions??
                      Another model with same/better capabilities??

bluetooth, gprs is BIG problem...still not fixed....i suggest go for SonyEricsson 750i instead!!!

                              Hi everybody,
I am from Iran , I have this mobile phone 6230i, the features are excellent, but the below are disadvantages:

1.The Video quality is not so good.
2.You can not upgrade or add software.
3.there is no software with phone package for converting the 3gp to other video formats. you should buy it seprately.
4.there is no cover for the camera lens, so it may be not clean when you intend to take photos.
                              5.it doeant have answering machine.
6.you can not dial the recived call easily, and first you shall go to the received calls and then call the number.

the advantages that i like are :
1.small size, Radio, good sound recorder with good sound quality,
