whoever is deciding on 6233 or 6288
the advantages of buying 6288:
comes with 512MB MiniSD
themes dont work on it properly
its slide and the mechanism will brake afta hard use.
VGA video
the advantages of 6233:
stereo speakers (bose)
mp3 sound quality is good 1 of the best
VGA video (15fps)
BAR phone(no slide)
buttons are soft
strong build quality
great mp3 player

I bought this Phone for my dad.He complaint he got nothing in this Phone than the Previous Nokia6600.

What is with the white glassy thing on the bottum of the camera it looks like the flash but the specifications sais that the phone doesn't take flash with the camera

i've been thinking about gettin this phone for a while now but than i found the nokia 6288 can anyone tell me if that phone is better then the 6233 because the only thing that beats the 6288 on the 6233 in the sterio speakers but than you have the bigger screen on the other please help!!

this phone is awful. period. too many bad points for me to list.
worst phone i've looked at.
more potential in two tin cans and a piece of string!
move on.
talk about something else.
like when is nokia going to wake up and start listening to its customers..
that would be good!!

I think u got a defect one. bcoz, 6233 is loud. i mean LOUD! if ur not satisfied with it, get the n73 ME with bose speakers and carry it everywhere. long and heavy?! what planet do u live on! haha

I upgraded from a Nokia 6230, so the 6233 is a natural choice, as it's pretty much an upgrade version of 6230.
Good points:
- Good mp3 player sound quality.
- Buttons easy to press (but the 6230 Menu btn is better).
Bad points:
- A bit heavy and long.
- Only 5 or 6 MB internal memory, way too small!
- Camera not as good as I thought it would be (2MPixels), but not bad either.
- Sound not loud enough (both talking and mp3 loudspeaker).
- Voice recorder quality not as good/sensitive as 6230's.
Still a good phone to own and use.

let's state some facts for to clear some misunderstandings for future users/buyers of the 6233 unit
fact when people say that 6233 has bad camera they mean it has alot of noise but you can solve this problem by downloading a software for your computer like "noiseware" to eliminate these noises
after putting out those noises its picture quality is comparable to n70
fact 6233 has superior video compared to most n series and other mobiles
VGA(640 x 480,can be considered as n93 video to some extent) is greater than QVGA/CIF(half of what VGA is 320 x 288)
definitely better than any resolutions below it
it is currently one of the few mobiles to achieve a resolution of VGA in video aside from n93 sharp 904 and DV2 and n95(in the future)

do any one knows about the bluetooth speed/version
i.e. is it 2.0 or 1.2
or practically u feel it's good or lazy in comparison 2 others..
u know this is 2005 version & iam afraid it might b lagging in some features

3G. 6233 has 3G. it can video call.
and vga is better than qcif.

A clarification if I must. The 6233 records video at VGA resolution @ 15FPS, which is higher than CIF and QCIF. Anyone who tells you otherwise is an idiot. The playback is superb, although by no means excellent compared to DV cams. But compared to other phones, the Nokia 6233 is only matched by the N93, which costs more than twice.

It's just funny that all these people who are complaining about the phone seem to compare them to phones that are much more expensive. W810i? Hello! That's like $50 more!
The only drawback for me thus far, is multitasking. I'd like to listen to some music from AGALLOCH while I read an EBOOK.
I've also been able to get a WinAVI MP4 video converter, and to circumvent the unfortunate drawback to the player not being able to FWD and REW, WinAVI let's me split my videos down to 5MB a piece. Roughly a 40 minute video can go down to eight 5MB files, think of them as chapters. ;)
Again, still an excellent phone, best one you can buy for $200.

there 2 types of 3G there is the video calling 1 which is called 3G video ..and another called 3G telephony which this 6233 has it allows u to use 3G sim cards and has 3G network access

well it claims its 3g but it doesnt have a camera where u can see u'rself, i thought thats what 3g was? i thought that you could video call someone whilst you can look at them at the same time? i don't get this phone! need help!!
