    I recently bought the 6233. The camera did not work- every time I tried using it I got the message 'Operation Failed' , I gave it in to Nokia (its been a week now and they still have not responded). They adviced me initially that the phone required a software upgrade. Could someone please advice me if this possible ? I cannot believe that a new Nokia model would require a software upgrade.

      My dear 6233 and N-70 are based on different platforms. 6233 is series 40 3rd version and N-70 is series 60. N-70 is bigger and heavier but you can add a lot of useful applications on ur phone like cost managers, dictionaries, and other personal and multimedia utilities. The camera capability of N-70 is also better than 6233. 6233 on the other hand is solid, good looking, has excellent sound, ordinary camera useless at night due to lack of flash, but very fast, user friendly, no hangups, no freezing and easy to operate as compared to N-70. However millions of games can be downloaded on 6233 but there are not much useful applications.
      So if u r not much into mobiles My advice would be to get 6233. But if u want a mobile purely for imaging then spend a little more and get N-73 which has the same platform as N-70 but takes brilliant pictures.
      Hope it helps u in taking decision.

        I bought this phone 5 days ago, but the package did not contain USB cable, although the phone can be connected to PC's USB port. I used the USB cable for Nokia 6630 phone on this one and connect it to my PC and it worked. I wonder why there is no USB cable included while there is PC CD software included.

          my brother has 6630 and I bought 6233 5 days ago, and here is my opinion in the two:
          1- 6630 has 10MB internal memo + 64MB additinal card, 6233 has 6MB internal + 64MB card.
          2- 6630 has better camera picture quality than 6233, but 6233 has more mega picels.
          3- all features related to contact names, calender, alarms, to-do list are the same.
          4- The sound from 6233 speakers (sterio speakers) is much louder and clearer than the sound from 6630's solo speaker. althought the sound from 6630 is not bad at all. more scientifically, 6233 can produce lower frequencies than 6630 so you can feel guitar sound for example more real than 6630.
          5- 6630 has sensor for surrounding light to adjust display and keys light to preserve battery, 6233 has power saver mode which shut down the display off completely after some minutes of inactivity and the display light has short time out (about 8 to 9 Sec) and can not be adjusted.
          6- 6233 can record video in VGA mode (640*480 15fps) but it must have bigger memo card to record acceptable period and the included 64MB card is certainly not enough.
          7- I do not know about this but I feel like the battery in 6630 can work longer than 6233's battery without recharging, but I am not sure because I only recharge the battery of mine 6233 twice until now.
          8- The calculator in 6233 is more advance from 6630. 6233 has scientific functions like SIN COS SQUERRROT MEMO.
          9- 6630 has more shortcut keys than 6233, I mean when opening a photo for example, 6630 enables you to zoom in by pressing "5" key, while in 6233 you have to open MENU then scroll to ZOOM and select is.
          10- I feel like 6233 has better "night mode" than 6630 when taking pictures in the night.
          11- 6630 is faster when shooting photos in full resolution , in 6233 you have to wait for about 2 seconds before the picture is saved, while in 6630 it is about 1 Second.

            is the driver cable is included with the sales packege?

              you can change contact font size from :
              menu-->Settings-->Display-->Font Size-->Contacts
              if you can not see this option, may be it is software version issue, I have the phone with swv = 4.52

                  Its about the new coming 6233i which i will very and extremly happy if this TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 software is desined into it no matter the cost iam ready to buy i need very much in Nokia 6233i mobile fon,the phones is very nice but i need such software to complete my tast in that powerful phone.
                  I hope my contribution will be considered.

                      Hi! i want know the differences between "Nokia 6233" and "Nokia 6233 Music Edition". Is there any difference in features. pls help me as i'm gonna buy this phone in the next couple of days.

                        i got my phone with new firmware its working awesome but only one prob tht there no snake game in it and all ppl talk about version 4.52 but mine is ver 4.54 dated 01-08-06

                          may i have your email address plz. actually i am in a fix, either to buy 6233 or N70. Not much mobile user, Can u plz let me know what type of app we can add i n70 which we can't in 6233. which one is more porn to viruses, the only negative i seems in n70 is as in pak we don't have 3g, so no need for dual camera. hope u guide me at your best.

                            Hi Guys,

                            I've found this site to be very useful so far as i've managed to learn many new things about the N6233. Keep up the good work!!

                            I've one query which i hope some of you can help me with - it's regarding the 'call waiting indicator' (or rather the lack of it!) for the N6233. In previous nokia models (for e.g. the old N8250 which by the way is an excellent simple and basic phone), when i am attempting to call someone on that person's handphone but he is currently engaged on the line, what i can see / hear on my N8250 after i press the call button is (i) a short 'toot' sound followed by (ii) the words 'Call Waiting' shown on the screen for a few seconds, indicating the person i am trying to call is currently engaged on the line. However for the N6233, it doesnt seem to have this 'call waiting indicator' i.e. when i make a call using the N6233 and the person i am trying to call is engaged, my N6233 doesnt show me that i am on call waiting.

                            I would like to check with you guys as to whether the N6233 does have this 'call waiting indicator' feature like the older nokia models and if so, how do i turn it on?

                              hey, guys .... basically i own this fon for nearly a week .... every seems good .... only i found out that the cover behind seems a bit loosen ..... if i were to tighten it by adding a piece of paper between the battery and the cover ... i wonder whether does it hurts the battery or not ?

                                  i bought the 6233 a week ago. the design is stunning with the stainless steel finishing, an excellent sound quality with the stereo speakers, a perfect display (2 inch),a good camera but the phone's main drawback is the lack of a flash if it had a flash it would have ruled all! it has a very fast processing and no hangs. it can FF/RW music files. in other words it is perfect in every sense

                                    Here is the help i need.this 3G stuff,what is it???i mean,i thought 3g is for video talking?If there is no secondary camera,is it that we can see the person talking to use but that person can't see us talking to them???

                                        I would like to know about this phone model, if it could recieve different file format from other nokia models using specified connections like infra-red, bluetooth?Cause this model is using different memory card?Can it receive MP4,MP3,miditones,themes,etc..??
