if i buy this phone in pakistan on 1st next month, what version will be installed on it?
is there any1 here from pakistan using this phone and can he/she confirm which version is installed in mobile...

Hi friend, you can't upgrade yourself, this is not a smartphone, u've to go to your area Nokia center to do it....

Hi 123Com, seems like u're new fans, you may read back pages about all needs & issues that might help u along the road. To solve your problem, use MP3 for both ring & alert tones as they can play longer as your preferable. But in order not to waste memory, u may need to cut it short. Inorder to act before problems arise, u're advise to upgrade it to V4.52

Well, 3 days since I got this and I'm rather peeved about this 'problem':
. if the ring tone is set to "maximum volume" in the profile settings, when the phone actually rings - the first 4 secs of the ring tone are actually fairly soft - before it becomes loud
. this affects the sms alert tone too - which is a real pain because my tone is less than 4 secs long which means that I can barely hear it and it never gets a chance to become louder unlike the ring tones
I called Nokia support and the told me this was a "feature" - to "prevent damage to the speakers".
Is every one else's phone like this or am I the only one with this "feature"? I'm on v3.7 and haven't had any of the other problems so far - though I haven't really been playing with the other features.

ei guys.. i just want to ask.. how do you install new themes on the nokia 6233 phone?.. its embarassing but i don't know how to install themes... also.. how do you install themes on the other nokia phones?.. i have 2 nokia phones.. n73 and 6233.. thanks

i love nokia always have done, but guys this phone is poo, ive had it 7 days and had to have 2 software updates on it, memory is crap too. the look and feel of the phone is great, but pull your socks up in the software dept or you will be left behind by sony erricson, would i get the same phone again ??? no i wouldnt id go for the d900 or sony erricson one. sorry nokia your losing me..

Hi sathish,
1) You're correct that FF & REV only workable in Music Player.
2) This phone support WMA(not WMV or AVI), you can refer to specifications in this forum or Nokia website. Mine tested & play w/o issue in the same M/Player together with MP3's. If yours can't, you may try download another song & if persists, than got to visit Nokia center again.
3) Like 6230i-Nokia spec mentioned max size for memory card up to 512K but user proved that it can support up to 1G, but pls bear in mind that spec doesn't equal actual-means Nokia was not tested on that level during designing, its at your own risk to use. Just test it on the spot of purchase, if can work than pay lah.....

ha ha, it is not 256 colour, read it again, it said 256K coloure = 256,000,000 colours.
By the way, is teh phone run in S40V3 be lack of application? The major trend of software that I found are in S60V3 now. Just wonder will it be smart move to get this phone.

hi guys,
1.fast forward and reverse option is only working with music player. but its not working media player(3gp) using left and right keys (holding)
2.wma files are not supporting in my mobile? any extra software to load in it?
3.regarding memory card...
nokia website mentioned upto 1 gb microsd.
but other review websites are mentioning upto 2 gb. which one is true?

Hi DonAndress, thks for your concerns, after second day testing, so far no hanging problem, hope it will not after somemore days, only the music player title seems having bugs as I've mentioned below->2006-09-27 07:55. When scroll forward & back in stop mode, the characters of previous title(last few non english characters)will stays when new title is display. Means u will see last half previous title which will not erase unless u exit & in again or scroll again in play mode. No big issue, but still slight disappointed as supposed this should not happen after upgrading....

Your second question, u can FF or REV by holding the L or R key when in playing mode.
