Why only a 256 colour screen, I have an older N6101 with 65k colour ?, What gives here Nokia?...

I compared its speaker loudness with sonyericssion w550.6233 sounds LOUDER than w550 , but 6233 loudness depends on equilliser

i have my 6233 and im very happy with it. the design is simple yet very durable. i got this for PHP 13,500.00 in the philipines. for such features, great speaker, stereo MP3, nice / clear and big screen. its worth my money for it. the series 40 interface is great faster than symbian. this is a great nokia phone, better than N70.!

u can check ur version by entering *#0000#.
if u r using ver 3.7 just go to customer care and ask them to change it to ver 4.5.

Hello, I've got my unit back after upgrading to V4.52, still testing with it. But already realized that "Chinese" characters(songs title) playing in Media Player seems to have a bit abnormal...when skip forward & back when its on stop mode, the characters of previous title(last few words)will stays when new title is display. U will need to exit & in again or skip forward in the play mode, than it will ok...I also realized that V4.52 include language change..maybe because of this I think.

few replies which i know...
1. u can view the video recording by nokia pc suite, if its not working means just download 3gp player from websites like www.download.com. it ll works.
2. yes, the picture in photocall is coming in full screen. its really superb.
3. if u have any problems like restarting and hang... just check the version. if it is 3.7... just change that to 4.5

Hi guys....
I have bought this mobile phone for a month. So far so good. I like the video recording. It's high quality, especially for the 640 X 480 resolution.
But I got one problem here.
I want to play the video that I've recorded with N6233 in my computer. I've installed the nokia multimedia player in my computer from nokia PC suite. But the player can't play the .3gp video that I've recorded from the phone. The computer said the format file is not supported.
Tell me guys, is there any solution?

I have the same problem as you. I set up my hotmail account in my phone and then I tried to delete it. I couldn't. :-S
It's a cool phone. Whenever I'm out, I always carry it in my hand, just looks way better. I've noticed that the battery life wasn't as good as my old Nokia 3100 - but I guess it's understandable as everything is bigger and better in this phone, so the battery comsumption would be greater.

just got this phone yesterday .... it is fantastic!!!! ohhhhh ..... the design is just superb and the function is really good ... so far i haven encountered any problem that you guys meet, except for the ascending ringing tone.
Hmmmm... imo, 6233 is defintely a worth buying phone .... common, only USD 250.00 ++.
anyway, i got a problem here with my e mail account setting .... i set up one gmail account now i want to delete it, but there's no such option to delete the account .... Weird .... anyone out there can help me with this prob ... Thanks a lot ....

6233 is better than sonyericsson k750,w700,w800 .I had k750 before ,it is not working now ,it has major problem .Sony has better sound and camera but they can not beat nokia in software and long life of mobile.Many things you can not do in sonyericsson like pc synchronise contacts etc. Text copy past.In thumbnails photo with detais size name etc. sms software is better in nokia.S40 is better than k750/w800 operating system.
Also no other sonyeric mobile can record video in VGA resolution maximum it is qVGA (1/4 of VGA)in w900 ,w800/k750 resolution is less than qVGA it is qcif.very very poor video recording in sony.
6233 is alwys better.

Hi sathish, thanks for your concerned, I 've send mine for upgrading & will be getting it back tonight, I'll test it & hope everything is fine. As your for doubts, WMA can be play on this phone but not AVI. There are some reasons for photos turns to be unclear :- hand-shake(before file saved), poor light(indoor), zooming & lastly settings(set Image quality to "High") happy snapping.

yes man, u can boldly compare with sony ericsson models speakers and keadsets...
nokia 6233 is rocks in sound quality.

till now i dnt heard about ur prob... what version u r using? if it is 3.7 means change it to 4.5 ok?
3. reply about memory card...
yes nokia 6233 supports upto 2 gb, some guys are already mentioned it. but i dnt use that.
4. reply for neil....
yes neil, even i have this problem... that particularly to motorola mobiles, i dnt know why...
may be that is prob with motorola... because... it is not connecting to sony models also.

hi, even i got the same prob... that time my version is 3.7, now i updated it to 4.5...
now my mobile is ok, its functioning well. its not restarting now. so try it. ok
but still i have few doubts...

oye ppl dont buy this cell its not good @ all! i saw it in da shop n this cell is for 12 Gs you can rather go 4 da sony ericsson W700i or da sony ericsson W810i! im usin a W810i its a class phone not probs with it! u get awesome free games 4 it 2222!!!!!so dont go 4 this silly nokia 6233 cause nokia does not even gave a higher mem card thn sony does! u get a 512 with a W810i n a 256 with a W700i! theeses phones are very similair n are classs sony is much beTT thn nokia! nokia phones jus love to hang ya and talkin bout mem cards hahahahaha nokia onli gives a 64 mb card hahahahahhaha joke joke joke!! dont buy da 6233 jus go in 4 sony there much bett n neva hand also! n i also herd 6233 cant support $60 applications awww how sad thn watz da use of a phone with $40 applications! newayz sony rocks n nokias ok ok!
