    Hey Dudes,

    Which one is the correct?
This site says about Nokia6233 mobile can support up to 2GB of expandable microSD memory. But Nokia site says

    http://www.nokia.co.in/nokia/0,8764,88166,00.html find memory functions column.

    Memory Functions
Up to 70 MB total memory (6 MB internal + 64 MB memory card)
Supports up to 1 GB of expandable, microSD memory
Back up important files such as presentations and documents, or just store images on your personal mobile storage device.

    Cheers,
    Kris

hey guys, thanks for your opinions u ve posted in reply to my queries the earlier 2 times,i really appreciate em',i'll go in for a symbian s60 phone most probably n72, cos theres no sense in 3g newyas(y ve a service which i wudnt use),besides the fact it reads the doc files and excel..which is indeed good and the camera takes descent good pics, also it has playlists so yea or else i cud wait for the price of n73 to fall,,cos its much smaller than n72 thats the only drawback of the n72 its HUGE,true guys jus cos of the stereo speakers dnt compensate on the looks and capabilities of a series 60 device, i mean if ur paying for the 2 megs cam, then get a good 2megs cam, the n72 dosent have infrared and who uses infrared dese days newyas but it has a very good cam in sense to 6233 and has multitasking as well, the difference in pricing btwn them both is approx 1,300 rupees indian, so dnt compromise on the money aspect the features far xceed the appliance, heres down to basic simple english xplanation, 1)jus wanna have fun buy 6233.2)wann a bit more than that n72(cos the price diff isnt more unnecessairly)3)evrythign else is over the top incase of pricing.
u could wait for the price to lower in the n73 but then u gotta buy xpandable memory for the n73 which would be money costing again, also the n80 is costlier,
in my opinion A)joystick phones suck but n73 is gorgeous and small comparitively.
            B) n80 is a brick- ofcorse the black brick is far more better looking than the silver, if u have a big and a deep pocket in money aspect for a phone as well space for ur brick in ur pocket, n80 is ur reach.
n71 is a clam cell, havent spoken bout it bcos i prefer having to look at a phone directly rather than opening em' this includes slider(tho eventually all moving parts face problems in the end, the slider of the n72/73 will eventually get loose, and the n80 as well)
the 6233 has one good aspect the capability of recording video @640pixles wich is wonderfull but yea which means more kill on memory approx for 1 min=10-14mb, so go in for a 2 gb memory if ur getting a 6233-uses a micro sd card so eventually ur price buying cards as well wud come up to be same as the n72-uses mmc(cheaper than micro sd)( u can choose a lower quality video recording for the 6233 and save space , but once u see the qualty rec of half meg rec, u will always shoot in half meg..hehe),
so yea i guess i have confused u more..but yes ita a personal choice once again that leads us to a circle of the consumer market strategy, personally i;d go in for n72,(inspite smaller the size better the storing in pockets-cos n73 wud have beent eh best deal-the price makes me realize reality-consumer strategy),so yea n72 for now

Does the 6233 play WMA files?
Also, i noticed that it doesn't have the 'C' (clear) key/button on the keypad. Where is it then? How can one use 'clear' option in SMS? Thanks!

                Aoki,

Thanks for your feedback on the menu settings, but unfortunately it only changes the layout of the menu. It does not allow me to change the font size of the menus (to e.g. large).

As far as I am aware, the only changes that can be made to the font sizes on the 6233 can be found in the display settings menu under font size, but they are only for messaging, contacts and web (and not for the menus).

In the 6230i, the font size of the menus was adjustable. Does anybody know whether this is possible in the 6233? And if so how?

Hi everybody. Is there any chance of somehow having the contacts data located on the memory card, instead of the shared phone memory which can support only 500 names with 16 fields? It is important for me the capacity of having a bigger space for the contacts memory. Otherwise, an excellent phone. Thank you.

                            Neil,

1].Re: Word/ Excel etc. ..No. ..it does not! ,..no S-40 phones have this capabilty. ..& i request all the readers of this forum, not to post this question again, ..in terms of software installation capabilites, ..S-60 is the King, ..S-40 phones are more business & basic. ..with the new S-40 firmware, ..nokia has tried to make the S-40 series more entertaining !! [6270, 6280, 6233]

2]Re:Playlist, ..what you can do is that instead of creating playlist, ..you create different folders with your choice of songs in those respective folders. ..& now in the music player, ..go to options, ..& then to play options, ...& then in the music source, ..select a particular folder.

3].Photos in dim light, ..6233 is bad!!, ..Pls refer to my reply posted for Sathish. ..if camers is your priority, ..even a 3230 [S-60 phone] has better photo results than 6233. ...

                              Shifty,

..yes, the video quality is quite good. ..in fact, too good ..but in the settings, ..you have to change the video clip quality from Basic to High & the resolution from 352 x 288 to 640x480. ..The only problem now is that for a 1 minute video, ..it will consume 14MB memory, ..now thats bad !!!

does the 6233 read word doc, excel,,,stc like the n72 does.. and can u customise ur own playlist??,,cos i think the phone reads all the songs from the phone?..so i dunno , so can we have like certain playlist where it refers to those songs only and then if i wann change to playlist 2, can i ?? and theres one more thing, hows the camera in dim light?...cos i have been looking up for the n72 and 6233 on the net for like 3 weeks now and i m still confused n its a very little money difference in either of the phones so i dun wanna have cognitive dissonance after buying either of em..so please jus lemme know there last factors

                                    Re:Photographs,

The print quality is good only if the photograph is clicked in ample light, ..otherwise its bad. ..try & point your camera towards any dark colored object, ..you will notice fine vertical lines on the screen. ..probably nokia is using a cheap lens for the S-40 series phones. ..cause, an image taken with an S-60 "1.3"megapixel camera is far better than an S-40 "2"megapixel camera. ..trust me, ..i have taken prints. ..it looks good on the screen, ..but when you print them, ..its bad, ..you can see those fine vertical lines, ..if the light is not ver very good.

Bob - I can recommend the Krussell leather case for the 6233. I got mine off eBay for around 12GBP, and there are plenty for sale on there. The only thing is its a little tight to get on and off (so much so that I was worried I might damage the phone). However if, like me, you will practically never take it out of the case, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just be careful and patient!
