Can You Use Simple English. Your Word Complex Just Like Grandma Story. This Handphone Nokia 6233 Is Unique I Never Heard Nokia Use MicroSD As It Memory Card. Only MMC, MiniSD.

        To Guru roger
The Transflash is, at the moment, stuck at 1GB. No roger It Call MicroSD Not Transflash. See Your Self At Memory Card (MicroSD) Not Transflash. To Roger You Need Glasess To See Memory Card.

Hey roger, bit of a hard one for you... Sometimes when i go to send a sms msg it tells me that i have no service number.. i put the number in (it adds it automaticly coz its vodafone msg centre) then a day or so later it asks me to put the msg centre number in again!! What up with that?? Is it the phone? Or my service provider?? Many thanks :)

              Hey Trevor,
I think Nokia meant to say the phone accepts up to 2GB mem card. The Transflash is, at the moment, stuck at 1GB. the 2GB is under development. Should be with us by Xmas!

              Hey DevonDelabre,

I noticed that a lot of people got a phone from the bad batch. Your's must be one of them. I would suggest getting hold of Nokia, or Carphonewarehouse if you are in the UK, and get them to sort it out for you. Ultimately you can contact the provider that gave/sold you the phone and get them to fix it.

              Hey Taz,
When you get yours back, would you mind telling us what firmware you got installed? That would enlighten our little minds as to what Nokia is playing at.
              Cheers mate.

              Hope you're all good!

              Cheerio,

has anyone had a problem with the battery charging? i bought my nokia 6233 last night, and the battery was hot to the touch. when i went to sleep, i charged the battery and this morning, the battery was full, but it was so hot i couldn't hold the phone in my hand. after 30 minutes of unplugging the charger, the battery was almost drained.

                    hey roger,

I had the same problems wit my nokia 6233.

I bought it like 2 weeks ago and on day 3rd software problems started showing up.

It wouldn't get signal or it would reboot many times when i was exploring its menu and whenever i selected some mp3 for ringtone while customizing my profile it wouldn't play the one i selected but it would ring back nokia tune over and over

Another thing is that screensaver stopped working so i returned it back and its been a week and i'm still expecting for my 6233 to get fixed. they told me they will install a newer version of software and it will be good as new.. I dont know about that

                      Hey Mac88,
thanks for that. I'm just sharing what i'm learning with this phone - it' cool to be able to help out. Who knows, maybe tomorrow it'll be me asking all the questions here...knowing my luck, I'll be here asking questions in no time!

Anyway, as i previously mentioned, i had a W810i for a couple of months. Then i gave that to my brother and bought myself the 6233. I had quite a good time with w810i, and loved every aspect of it, the only thing that nagged at me all the time was the speed of the menu interface. Other than that, everything was as cool as a cucumber!

The 6233 is better than the w810i in many aspects, for me anyway. However, the camera on w810i has flash and autofocus - something i miss out on by having a nokia 6233.

Also, the nokia is great for normal texting. I could nover get used to having the space bar on w810i located where the # (hash) button is. On the nokias, it is on the 0 (zero) button, which makes for a faster text message keying. Maybe this is just me, but i used to get annoyed because of that. Silly though, isn't it?

However, it is the little things that make or break a passion for a phone, wouldn't you all agree?
If a certain phone has something another hasn't, then that enough for us to look further into it; whether or not we need the so called "extra feature" - know what i mean???

My nokia 6233 is not perfect. It sometimes loses connection, then finds it again - network problem??? I don't know.

My 6233 rebooted itself a couple of times when playing a video or mp3. Firmware bugs or just me being too quick at the menu? i don't know.

More and more people are having the 6233 and it is inevitable, we are gonna see loads and loads of unhappy owners here. People are gonna slag off this little diamond. Some others are gonna trust their whole bank accounts on its success.

I believe the sony ericsson w810i is a great contender. These are great phones. However, it is pretty much what we are more used to, than just what they offer. I am a big fan of nokia series 40 menu; i don;t thnk i could live with a smartphone. I once had a orange SPV 5000 phone, Windows powered. Perfect, i thought, I can sync my music with this little beauty in a few clicks. But i hated the sluggish menu, and the ever so boring "windows" way of existing.

The more natural, simpler menu that Nokia offers is just what i look for in a phone.

This little beauty, my 6233, is just what i need for now. Loads of us are falling in love with it. I think that after a firmware update, the other phone will have a long way to reach its position in the sales rank..

Anyway lads, the w810i is great....but I'm such a nokia lad i couldn't begin to think having to "learn" another phone.

I hope this helps, a little, at least.

                      Have a good time lads!

                        Roger & Dutch,

Thanks for your detailed response. You guys are doing better than manufacturer in explaining the product & features.

Roger definetly deserves credit for all his effort in answering the queries.

It seems 6233 is competing with 810i. Any comments / comparison ?

                        Thanks again.

                          Hey ShellShock,

Sorry for the late reply - YES, the MP£ / Radio, when used in loudspeaker mode, are played using both sided speakers. Gets quite loud too - nice!

                            Hey Rhys,
Some operations are still available when using MP3/Radio. However, I found out that if i want to check my emails - my MP3 stops working - then when emailing is done, the MP3 is back on. Same is with voice calls, obviously. But texting is fine, and so is updating phone book or looking at photos. Uploading your music onto the transflash card couldn't be easier - it's drag n' drop. This is how i do it, connected via a memory card reader / usb to laptop. I haven't had much play with connecting phone > pc yet, however i'm told this is also very simple to do.

                            Hey Julianto
I got something like that too - but mine's not too bad, i suppose.
                            (the flickering, i mean!)

                            Hey Surferguy,
How's things? My phone crashed on me, when i was playing a video I recorded at a park. The vid was 14.5mb in size and when i went to play it, the phone rebooted.
After that, it worked fine. Strange, no?
                            Cheerio chaps!

hey, based on this review and comments here, im seriously thinking of getting on of these baby's. can someone tell me though,m when listening to mp3/radio, can you still use the phone? like can you still send txt messages, update contacts e.t.c. or can u only do one at a time? also, wih putting the SD card into your pc or plugging into your u=USB port, can you just 'drag and drop' mp3's in or do you need to do it some special way?
                              cheers!

About the flickering thing, hopefully Nokia could give solution to that in the future.

Hey Julianto. Yeah i have experianced this with my handset too... photo's taken during the day are fantastic.. however on night mode there is some flickering, which sucks but we can live with it.. as for the batt life, after 3 or so charges the life is great.. no complaints with this phone after 2 weeks of usage! long live nokia!

I've noticed that Roger has been helping us a lot with his kind replies. Thanks Roger!
Anyway, I have just bought Nokia 6233 last week and I like it very much. Simple, fast, and very convenient to use.

The only thing that made me worry was the battery life. However after reading most of Roger/ Surferguy replies, i am less concerned about it now. The battery life span is about 60 hours for my hp.

However, i do find that the quality of the photos taken during day time are much better than photos taken during night time. I also noticed the flickering motions on the screen during night time, and it get more obvious if the video function was activated.

Have any of you guys experienced this?
                                    Thank you

                                      i compared 6280,3250 n 6233
comparing the 3G,2 MP cam, radio, music n video player, connection, sound, memory, and symbian/non, and almost similar in pricing.all around $350 in indon.
                                      finally i choose 6233

                                      3250:
                                      the 2MP cam is terrible
                                      memory gr8
swift system (i bet that its complicated 2 take a pic,i've try it)

                                      6280:
                                      2 MP cam gr8
                                      screen gr8
                                      cashing bad (easy to scratch)
sliding system not longger its getting broke
                                      cant install aplication (limited)

                                      6233:
                                      2MP cam gr8
                                      cashing good
only one piece (nokia specialize in it)
cant instal aplication (limited, but better than 6280)
no cable data transfer in buying pack
                                      the design r so-so

nokia is not good in sliding, swift, flip system, they r good in one piece,my friends has a problem w/ the sliding systen.the cable that connect key pad and screen are off cuz slide it often.symbian r not my priority anymore (coz,im looking 4 black list, bedd chat n games)
btw, anyone can tell me can i install black list in 6233?

From specifications: Nokia 6233 has more features than SE K610i (push to talk,FM radio, infra red and double speaker) while SE K610i has dual camera and more polyphonic.
For quality from camera and speaker (I'm sorry) we wait review from user that have used both of them.
