The 6233 can save as many messages as the phone memory allows (more free space you have the more messages you can keep). I currenly have 300+ messages in my inbox

6600 is a smartphone, any smartphone can save unlimited messages as long as its memory doesn't run out. dumb phone like 6233 or w810i can save limited amount of messages.

              Hi Roger,

Is it true that the W810i cant store more than 60 messages?
i thought that it can store messages in its memory card, even my 6600 can store more than 1000 messages!

              Thanks before Roger!
              you're a big help

                Hey Puf,
If nokia has the adapter, then I suppose it would be just fine. My nokia 6233 charger has an output of 5.0V. My old nokia charger (from a 7250) has an output of 3.7v. Perhaps it would work, although at a much slower pace, but in all fairness, i suppose it would charge your phone just the same. Cheerio - rog

Thks Roger. But still wondering about the charger... Nokia provides an accesory to convert 3.5mm plug to 2mm plug. So maybe it means could use other Nokia chargers??? And I got a couple of standard Nokia chargers :)

Hey Kravitz, you are on the right tracks here.....No, normally memory imported via blouetooth will be saved to phone then to mem card - in which case this limits the amount of data you can transfer. Sad no?
                    cheers, roger

hey i want to buy a 6233, but a have doubt. the 6230 has 8MB internal memory and the maximun sized on file that can be received by bluetooth is that limit 8MB, because the phone when receiving a file saves it first in the internal memory and then you can put it wherever u want (MMC card). i wonder this 6233 has the limit sized of 6MB cause it´s the total internal memory.. can i receive file bigger than 6MB by bluetooth with this phone???

Hey Omegac - Good notes here!!
I've managed to get inbox on my "go to" button, and I currently am receiving my report deliveries ok - they seem to be working fine. Would this be a problem with network?? Funny thing is - I haven't got the voice mailbox option on my "go to" options - i've removed it and it has not reappeared...Strange that huh? Let's hope nokia comes out with an update soon then. Cheerio.

Hey Unnamed - a friend of mine has mini opera on his moby, 6233, and it seems to be a bit problematic. Somehow the built in browser seems to be dominant and wont budge in for others....

                        Ta for all

                        rog

                          Greetings all,

Has anyone here managed to get the phone working with opera mini on an Orange PAYG sim? The in built browser works fine, but opera doesn't connect.

                          Thx

This is a pretty buggy phone at the moment, compared to the rock solid 6230i

On my 6230 you could type a number in and go to options, which gave you the currency converter, in the 6233 you have to go to calculator

No option to set the Inbox as your up arrow option key

In a text message you can't edit a phone number in the address book before sending

Delivery reports are weird, timings are all over the place, sometimes several hours before the time of sending.

If I remove voicemail from the "go to" menu, switch the phone off and back on, it reappears....

Had 2 v 3.70 phones, and all the above are present in both.

Hello Friends! For the last 1 and half months I was reading views of 6131 users but here only I find that 6233 is also an option in comparison to 6131. And finally I hav to buy 6233 as it is a bit better than 6131 camera quality wise, 2 external speakers for gud sound quality 3 D sound effect, more battery life, easy maintenance, sturdy and 64 MB memory card included in sales package (India). These are the features which compelled me to buy 6233 instead of 6131, though a bit expensive than 6131 (Indian Rs 12000) and 6233 (Indian Rs 13800). These are Nokia priority dealer rates. Hope this will help others.

Hey Raj, one more thing though - if you want to save battery - go to menu > settings > phone settings > network mode > change to gsm. This saved me a bit of juice. For some reason, when the phone is left on "dual mode" it drains my battery faster - maybe it keeps hunting for stronger network? don't know. But it helped.....Unless you need the dual mode option? Anyway - cheerio chief - rog.

Hi Raj, Ok, the vibrating thing is normal, this is nokia playing with us. I've searched the entire web for an answer and one couldn't be found. So, i guess we'll have to put up with it for now.
The network problem - The first time I switched the phone on, it tried to work on 3g. Then it went away, looking for a network. It managed to find orange after about 2 minutes. It is sluggish in getting locked onto a network, for some reason. Sometimes when i'm on the train coming home, it loses connection and even drops a call, and after a couple of mins ot finds orange and on it goes again. So, i think there is a slight, let's say, "problem" with the network sync on this phone, but nothing too major. However, if and when nokia releases an updated to the firmware, I think they'll try and review that little nag.
I did not need to restart my phone after losing connection - it came back on ok - just took a little while.
Anyway, keep an eye out - if it does loses connection too many times, then it would be an idea to get in touch with nokia and express our feelings. Maybe a whole bunch of us could do it at some time? That would make them rethink this, wouldnt it? cheerio, rog

Roger, Hi, ..just got my 6233, ..having a problem, ..it vibrates slightly each time i switch it on or switch it off. ..is there a problem with my phone, ..is it possible to deactivate this feature??
Also, I faced a network problem similar to you, ..the phone did not catch up on the network after coming out from a no-network zone. ..Tried manually searching the network, ..but didnt work, ..had to switch it of & on again to get back the network!
