Arash,
What do you mean by the display so little? The screen I think is slightly bigger than 7610 and also much clearer...
The display break? Well, not just the display, the whole phone will break if you drop it... it's very fragile, if you want to buy it, you must really take care of it... NOT recommended for rough people... very suitable for lady users, or profesionals...

Matt,
Ok, to be more precise, both speakers must not be on the same channel... But if it's a speaker, obviously it wouldn't be on the same channel right?
As for the STEREO headset, it's confirm STEREO, as it's very clear from the sound quality and also the fact the many reviews mention that RADIO is STEREO and MP3 is MONO, which in fact, is simply because of the STEREO headset...
As for the quality of music/sound Owen is looking for, perhaps it has to do with the soundcard or chipset... 3300 is a Music Player, probably it's using a better soundcard or chipset...

Hi, all.
Owen, stereo does *NOT* just mean that two speakers are available... they must be able to independently play, even if two completely different things come out to each ear [such as the right-to-left affect that Andy mentioned].
Anyway, I know the different between 850Mhz and 900Mhz, I am just wondering if anybody has actually seen an 850Mhz 6260... I want one, and can't find one for sale anywhere! Only 900!

Owen,
Yes, this site review that the RADIO is stereo and the MP3 is MONO, but I've posted twice about this... The review is not a complete or didn't they check properly... Why is the Radio STEREO?
STEREO means dual channel, or simply put, 2 speakers, which is why the headset is called STEREO HEADSET. The radio is STEREO quality because.... well,... you're hearing using the STEREO headset... Try hearing without the headset (LOUDSPEAKER and see the difference in quality...), OR, use a MONO headset (ONE EAR PHONE)...
Anyway, STEREO quality is affected by the SPEAKERS not the soundcard or chipset, so IF the RADIO is STEREO and the MP3 is MONO, is NOKIA that stupid to put 2 different speaker? LoL...
Even for my 6600, I've bought the STEREO headset just to hear STEREO quality MP3... But the sound quality, I think it's affected by the soundcard or chipset,... like for Sony Ericson phones which support higher quality of tones, etc...
As for the left to right and right to left effect, I'm not sure, need to try it out, first... Will let you know, not sure what actually affect those...
But, another good point about 6260 is the support for MP3 Ringtones... That's very nice, saves a lot of MMC space and preserve the quality and loudness... Plus, it's built-in REAL Player is the best I've seen so far...

Hey Andy214
this site explains that Radio is Stereo and MP3 is mono which is a hardware platform limitation.

Yo Andy214!
Yup! pretty aware 'bout batteries. its just that new batteries needs to be completely discharged and fully recharge if its new, then after that you can recharge it even if its not low yet (that's what i've observed).
for MP3 playback using headset... are you sure its stereo?? hmmm... the quality of the headset sound compared to the loudspeaker is much better, i cant deny that. but using the headset still sounds not stereo. anyway, ill check nokia stores if there's another headset model and maybe i can test it before buying. because my friend's Nokia 3300 and Sony-Ericsson K700i sounds better using the exact same MP3 file. say you're playing an upbeat or dance song with an effect that the voice travels from left to right to left earphones, you can hear that effect with Nokia 3300 and Sony-Ericsson K700i. but with Nokia 6260, the effect doesnt travel from left to right to left earphones but you just hear them on both sides of the earphones at the same time. you get what i mean?.... hehehe oh well...
yeah i guess it was blessing in disguise when i bought this 6260. i was at the panasonic shop and ready to purchase that X700 then he said it's out of stock. i was like "what? you had one yesterday right?".... so i decided to look around and Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, Palm and Sony-Ericsson shops were just right in front of it so i decided to check phones with same value and i bought this 6260 on the spot (well i was really planning to buy a new phone that day, not just an impulse or something).

Owen,
Sorry bout my previous post about Panasonic X700, I thought you were refering to the Panasonic Video CAM phone (cause you were talking bout twist and flip of 6260, so I mistaken the X700 for the Panasonic Video CAM phone)...
Anyway, reading the review and specification, it's worst than 6600 IMO,... except the look, and display I guess... But for a Clampshell phone, it's a very common look, and not really nice looking clamshell compared to other japanese or korean clampshell design... The size isn't really small anyway, about the same size as 6260... 6260 looks big because of it's shape, it's Rectangle while X700 is Oval...
Performance wise, this phone can't beat 6260, not even 6600... it uses the same processor as 6600 and memory is low... though, I believe the sound quality should be better..
X700 camera quality is awfullly bad, worst than 6600...
Anyway, IMO, it's very lucky you didn't choose that =)

Hi Owen,
Sorry, I mistaken your for kaosgirl, hehe, and thanx for clarifying to me that the name is at the bottom... =)
For the battery issue, I hope you know the difference between Li-Ion and Ni-Cad (The new slim type battery and the old type which used by older Nokia models)... The new type, you don't have to drain it before you charge... You can charge anytime, even if it's full, just keep the battery life top, it won't spoil the battery, don't worry... The older type of battery, you need to discharge it first, the new type is not recommended according to what I've read...
As for the MP3 playback when using the headset, it's STEREO... STEREO means with LEFT and RIGHT channel, 2 Speakers... Most Nokia Symbian phones come with 1 internal speaker which makes it MONO quality... except the N-GAGE Classic. Have you tried hearing without the headset and with the headset on? It's a big difference in quality, which is much more clear when using the headset... Try listening to some dance music, without STEREO, the music is like breaking up...
As for 3300, it's clear probably the internal speaker is some good quality speaker... Like Sony Eriscon and Motorola phones, they have good quality internal speakers which makes the sound good... Well, probably the internal sound card or chipset as well, cannot really be sure... Anyway, Motorola E398 have a nice sound quality, was said to have "3D" sound...
As for Panasonic X700, I have not much comment, but is it a Symbian powered phone, or... is it even a SMARTphone? If it isn't then, to me, it's not worth paying so high just for the camera (like S700i)... With that price, I could get a much much much much much better camera, a REAL digital camera with REAL functions... There's a big difference in functions for phone's camera and digital camera's camera... not just the pixels...
As for UltraMP3, maybe you're using a later version, I haven't update my version for quite a long time =P

Okay, so Nokia says they poduced two versions of this phone: an 850/1800/1900 and a 900/1800/1900. Is this a hardware or software distrinction [...stupid question, but could be a possibility...]? I have yet to see an 850Mhz 6260 available for sale. If anybody has one, could you please tell me where you got it?

I wonna make something very clear: the "PhotoAcute" application works with this smartphones:
SonyEricsson P800, SonyEricsson P900, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6600, Nokia 3650, Nokia 6620.
If you have 7610, 7650, 6630 or SX-1 you'll need the application "Photo Right SP" which takes pictures with resulution 1152x762 (1 megapixel) and has 8x zoom.
I'll send you (Mick) "PhotoAcute" hoping that you have 6260.
