i have been using the 6260 since 5th Dec. incoming call reception is clear. screen resolution is good. camera pictures are life-like and excellent. fm radio is powerful and sound quality satisfying. overall the model is very functional and easy to use. getting used to the double panel keypads should not be a problem and once the user becomes familiar with the various buttons navigation becomes almost second nature to its owner. the phone is totally reliable and works for the money spent on it.

Can anyone comment on the batt life of 6260? I'm in a dilemma to get k700i or 6260. The reason for not getting k700i is becos of its infamous batt problem and also no mmc slot. 6260 have both but from the spec, its maximum talktime is only 4hrs. Not quite not enough.

To Gaurav Kumar:
Thanks for your feedback. It's been a great help. As for the Stereo sound, that's alright, as I usually listen to music on the go, so ambient noise is prevalent.
I'll definitely be looking for that Third Party Software!
To clayton:
I was worried about stinky suede too! Thanks for confirming that. And I am looking forward to using Bluetooth!

The material of the outer shell is a matte plastic. I have the black one, which is actually kind of a brown color (it works well with the two-tone effect with the silver accents).

Hi guys... Do you mind telling me what material the black 6260 and silver 6260 is made of? I want to buy the black 6260 by the end of the year but I'm worried its a certain kind of black which I don't like.. You see, I've only seen the silver ones in the shops.. They don't appeal to me as much as the black one does on the com. I want to know what it is in real life. Pls help.

I don't know what's going on with nokia.........I think it has back sliden alittle. I'm using a Mitsubishi M900 now. The phone is great from many aspects. I wanted to get this phone for my bf but ended up getting 6670 for my bf. Already, the phone has problems like sometimes you cant hear the person talking over the phone coz it gets so soft and all in a sudden it gets louder again and the whole interface is sort of confusing compared to older versions which are very user friendly. But my bf loves Nokia so......thinking of changing his 6670 with this one, 6260. I wonder if this phone is good? coz some dealers told me it's not? pls help

I think this phone is better than the 6670 although the 6670 has a 1MP camera, the phone looks hideous and the buttons are too flimsy looking. This phone is just so stylish. But there is something awkward about it, the menu function buttons are at the same place as the screen. But a little
patience and the phone would really be easy to use. Good effort Nokia !

Wont want any other phone i have been in the phone industry a long time and the only down side is the camera but its great for kodak moments:) . best phone on the market for the price unless you want a mega pixel camera(just buy a digital camera its cheaper)
72xx series are just a fashion accessorie at twice the price with half the features.the suede on the 72xx series stinks after a while to.
if you like the 6230 youll love the 6260.

Motorola E680 is way better than Nokia 6260. Both of them are of same price. E680 can play MP3 in stereo sound and can play videos very smooth. You can add SD card upto 1 GB to store vidoes, MP3s and you can even use it as a mass storage device. E680's camera and display are much better than 6260. Think before you buy one!

AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) is the Latest Technology. Smaller than MP3. But MP3 is easily available and Its OK with Nokia Phones whether its 6260 or 7270. To be very frank, Sound quality of the phone is just OK. You can just listen the music, you can't enjoy it because MP3 is Mono. You can enjoy FM Stereo. Its incredible. Don't go in details otherwise I'll have to fill up this whole page.
If you feel that there is no display at the top. Be Smart! Turn the Display upside down (180 Degree) and close the Flap. You'll get the display. You can just use it as normal phone. (but you can't dial a number using keypad, you'll have to rotate display again, you can dial from Phone Book). Your phone will become handy and it will also display u missed call or sms or whatever.
You can install third party software to create documents. With Nokia Software you can just create simple notes.
Draconia, You'll enjoy to take pictures from this phone... Not just another phone... But if you want pictures in Big Size & Resolution (600 X 480), you'll have to rotate display 180 Degree. (Picture Size between 175 KB - 250 KB) otherwise Low Resolution (Picture Size < 125 KB)

Draconia,
To help you out, yes, the phone has a green indicator light on the front to notify of incoming calls and other alerts. I am unsure of AAC files, but from my experience, I found MP3s to be much better. The camera can be a pain, but it's a very nice design. The pictures are taken in a sideways form, but that doesn't matter when viewing the pictures on the phone. I own it, I like it.
