This is for Albert..

Firmware is the operating system of the phone.
and it needs to be updated..

that is why it needs a FIRMWARE UPDATE!! it improves the software of the phone and it fix the errors or bugs it had on the previous firmware or OS.. Sometimes they add on some extra features on the latest firmware or whatever the last firmware was lacking..

Since this phone is new.. the next firmware updated for this phone is mostly to fix errors..

If you still don't get it..

try this example..

Its like upgrading your Windows XP Home Edition to the Professional Edition.

Hi, listen i've been reading the opinions and i see that a lot of you comment that this phone doesnt have and updated firmware or something like that, so i was wondering if you could tell me whats that and how important it is to the phone?

I think you should just get it in Singapore.. like you said they got it for $380USD that's not so bad..

If you get it in Canada you get a simillar price here in the US..

which is $400 - $480..

The info ya provided was very useful.

Btw, the $620 i quoted was in Singapore dollars.. so tat works to abt US$380.. so it's a pretty good deal.

Pretty decidede tat response time is more important for me, so s40 is ideal.

Now all i need to know is whether to get it in Singapore or Canada...

1st of all.. it doesn't come with a RS-MMC, it comes with a miniSD. some comes with 128MB but ive seen alot of em comes with 512MB

2nd of all $620 is too pricey.. they are ripping you off. the ideal price of this phone is $400 - $480.

and for your last question..

Both OS has their PROS and CONS..

S40 is much faster, but very less you can download in software wise.. it runs through JAVA..

S60 is a little bit slow.. but its a smart phone.. you can download so much stuff on it. SYMBIAN softwares..

so you figure it out..

as for my opinion.. i prefer the S60 because like i said there are so much you can do.. and im that type.. i like to treat my mobile phone as my mini computer on the go..

It all depends how you use your phone and your lifestyle.

I hav been quoted S$620 for it and it comes pre-packed with 512 RS-MMC as stated in the nokia website. I have a query though: is the System 40 OS a real drawback as compared to a System 60 (Symbian) OS? Can it even be said that the 40 is a lousier system than the 60?

Hi Gwapz
Hope u can help me. When I try to attach pics to my contacts they dont get attached. I thought its maybe because of low phone memory, so i resized them but still no response. Also pics taken by other phones like samsung are also not attached. Can u tell some magic mantra? Thanx

I'm going to get my family to buy it in Hong Kong for $412 USD from smartone. I tried it out today and it feels really good, small size, classy appearance (not too flashy like the SE W series!) - dosen't look like a kid's phone. The slider is built with good quality - good momentum, no friction detectable =P
The downside now, is that the phone feels kind of 'hollow' and a little plasticky, meaning it should break if I drop it. (My previous phone - best phone I've used in terms of quality was SE T610 and it felt really dense like a peice of aluminum. I've scratched it and dropped it hard for close to 20 times and it still functions like new). Overall a really good phone though; recommend trying it at a store before buying.

too bad it doesn't have OS symbian. it could've been one of the best smartphones ever. planning to buy, but i have 2nd thoughts about it..

Ok yout 1st question i just recently answered that to another forum member.. try reading what i have posted.. regarding the downloading Series 60 softwares to Series 40.. that's a NO NO!!

Check the one that i answered for kingsrow..

For your 2nd qustion.. here it goes..

NO you have to plugg the headset in order for you to listen to the radio.. the headset is used as the antenna for the radio on the phone.. i know its weird.. why can't they just used the phone's signal right.. and YES you can listen to the radio on the loudspeaker.. but then like i said the headset has to be plugged.

for your 3rd question.. here it goes

Well i have experienced it alot of times.. because like i said! there is a bug or errors on the phone! it needs a FIRMWARE UPDATE!!

And your final question.. here goes my answer..

The ideal price on this phone is around

$400 - $480.. check this place out.. they are good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

both different companies, and very good places, and price FAST SHIPPING..

I recommend before you buy ask where the phone is made.. I recommend GERMANY or MADE IN CHINA.. not MADE BY NOKIA because alot of complaints of errors on the MADE BY NOKIA..

hi everyone,i m plannin 2 buy this phone this week...but b4 i do i gotta ask a few things:
1) Can i transfer games and softwere from my frendz Ngage,6630, and other.
2) Can i play the FM radio without plugging in the headset...i mean on loudspeaker.
3) Do many of u face the restarting problem?
4) wats the ideal price??

Could be either both.. like i said the phone has errors or bugs... or it could be your SIM too.. check your SIM also it might have alot of scratches already.. what i mean is the gold plated area on your SIM might be wearing off..

It happen to me before.. and as far as the restarting thingy.. that's a bug.. ive experienced that alot.. and its really annoying..

Im sorry to tell you.. the softwares you have on your 6630 are incompatible with the 6270..

They don't have the same Operating System..

As you know the 6630 is running on Series 60 platform which is Symbian.. they call them Smartphones..

And the 6270 is a Series 40 phone.. running on a JAVA software..

But sometimes they make a software for Series 60 and Series 40..

for example.. Do you know the Opera Browser?
It was meant for Symbian OS phones.. As for alot of request, they made one for Series 40 also and they called it the Mini Opera..

Well as of now.. i called Nokia Customer Care EU, they said they don't know yet, because they are still gathering some info on how much error the phone has.. but they said they are workin on this ASAP..

Trust me when the errors and bugs get fix on this phone.. This is goin to be the best phone in the market..

For your info.. it already knocked out the K750 and the D500..

BELEIVE ME!!

I am interested in purchasing nokia 6270 and i read your opinion on gsmarena. Can I use the same software in 6270 which i am using in my 6630 like smart movie remot control real play games like sky force and stuff like that. I would be really greatfull if you please reply me back.
