You can buy the phone now in Belgium at 'Phone House' for about 380euro! Still waiting for some though to appear on eBay...

I have the 6280 for a single day and I must recomend it! Good sound, weight, size, menus, screen, photos, etc Igot it free from operators and I think the most problems that are reported here are in phones modified by operators! I tested it and found no problems the people are talking here and there. By the way there is a lot of years that I do not adquire phones modified by operators. Here in Portugal I bought it for 368 euros and I am satisfied. It only misses a mini SD of 1 or 2 GB!!!! I trying to find one to buy. Good luck with your phones.

Even easier video capture: Press and hold the camera button on the side of thr phone to enter video record mode. Press the button quickly and you access the camera facility!

Paul, I also sent Orange an email detailing my disappointment about the Nokia 6280 on Orange(or lack thereof). Hoping that if enough people do the same they might take notice and finally stop messing around with the menu's and layout or whatever it is they're doing with it and finally release it!

In repsonse to JC further down the page..
To take film:
Camera button on the side of the phone
Then hold it on its side like a digicam with the camera button facing upwards
press square outline part of menu / navigation button on right as you look at phone [down in normal orientation] that has selected film mode.
press camera button to start and stop filming
the phone also has a vibrate function, simply go into profiles and setup your own under my style 1 or 2.

Had the phone for 3 months now, a worthy test period and i think its a great phone. really good size, good battery life, stylish, dead easy to use, and i have seen others in the family, N70, 6270, 6111 etc and i think with ease this is the best. fully recommended

The Nokia 6280 rocks. The speaker/headset is louder than any other mobile phones. Its better than Sony Ericsson Walkman phones.
Tip for 6280 users --> How to Make Speaker & Headset Louder.
1. Go To Menu --> Media --> Equaliser --> Now create Equaliser setting by putting everything at the top level & then save it & activate it.
2. Now play your music files it will be louder. Connect your headset it will be louder than ipod earphones.

I emailed Orange yesterday complaining about all the other networks beating them to it and how let down I feel over the 'coming soon' status that has been on the website for months.
I got a very predictable reply, saying sorry and that the phone is with them being tested and will be available in March. They haven't got long!
Mind you, it also said that this was subject to change...
My choice of network is now subject to change. Sorry Orange.

I have this phone since saturday.. and it's very very very good... beautiful, design sofisticated, great photos, ...
Ahhh the sound it's fantastic... even the radio and mp3... excellent excellent the stereo.. it seems we are hearing in a very good sound system... And NO PROBLEMS at all... The version is 3.60 yet, so the last one... I thing the problems are only for those who have 3 all over the world.. mine is unlock... SO NO PROBLEMS::: thanks NOKIA for the best phone ever.......

does anyone know when this phone is coming out on orange in the uk !? they were supposed to get ot after 3 but now vodafone have beat them to it, why are orange always last with the good phones? is it cos they are messing about (and spoiling) menus and stuff like they do with samsung d600 etc?

I have the same phone but the CDMA Version. It`s called 6265. The phone its Excellent! its amazing, but the only bad thing is the sound... it sounds like a broken radio.

Have had the phone 3 days and seem to need to charge it 2 times a day. Anybody had the same problem?

I phoned o2 today with the same question they say its is due into them on the 4th April, but i'm not holding my breath, they say the delay is due to testing in the Isle of Man to make sure it works for the network.
Been advised that the only difference between this and the 6270 is that it has 3G video phoning on it.
