I've been using this phone for months now!!!
And bec is talking nonsense! The phoneis still in perfect condition! And I've also dropped it alot! But its still in best condition!
You may think that its slide is poor but wait till you get your hands on an n80! You'll definitely wish for a 6288! n80's slide is so rigid and firm that you can't open it using one hand to slide with ease!
The camera is seriously great! especially outdoors! The colors are very vivid! though the indoors aren't too well but is still satisfactory!
This phone isn't marketed for neither camera nor music capabilities! But it still do an excellent job on both!

I'm using this phone since October 2006 and the slider mechanism is still ok. It's exactly in the same state as it was in the beginning. So ...I'm happy with it.

i bought this phone last december and you know what? it only last for about 4 months.. the slider mechanism is loose.. camera function is so poor specially in low light condition.. the flash is useless.. the sound was fair.. (the speakers were recycled from 6230 phones)
the menu was good and the themes.. its like a combination of Sony Ericsson and Nokia OS..
good luck to all who bought this phone.. even if you give it an extra care.. it wouldn't last.. peace..

hello ppl..will this phone last for few years? read the reviews that the slider mechanism is loose. any nokia 6288 user who have been using this phone for months, is thr any problem with the slider?? thought of buying it though...kindly reply me. thanks. ;-)

for ppl who have just got the phone or about to purchase one (or any phone for that matter) put the battery in the phone and let it drain. (all batterys come with a little bit of charge). Charge the phone for 12 hours. Let the battery completely run out again before charging it for another 12 hours. This prolongs the battery life and gives the battery memory a chance to to start working

got one and the microphone went on it only 4 months after buying it. Now the phone has been sitting at nokia for the past month getting fixed!!!! was it worth comming back to the nokia????

the phone is not very well sealed, a lot of dust has appeared on the display.

The sliding is smooth but when I hold the phone its kindda rigid. Not convincingly firm. Other than that, the phone is great!!

no u dont ryan, all you need to do is change the sms settings to save messages onto the mem ory card instead of the phone memory.

my n6288 cant send an mms.it keeps restarting everytime i try to send mms via message-create new message-multimedia msage-..when i insert image,the fone restart.also from gallery-send via multimedia, then restart!why! i tried to update v5.92 to v6.10, still the same.

to use the bluetooth and the themes with big size, you have to delete everything inside the phone's memory!!!!! or else, you can't transfer any file or apply the themes with 1mb or more. that's the downside of this phone.

the best thing to do is to enter the code *#7370#....this will format the phone ...but u will loose alll the stuff stored in the phone memory

for that person who does not know the security code, unless it has been changed the nokia security code is usually

I'ts great..but pls guys help me..my 11 yr old son accidentaly activated the security code of my phone and he doesn't remember what numbers he entered now I can't unlock my phone..pls help.
