i upgraded to this handset about 3 months ago. its a awesome phone.. simple to use, stylish.. all the essential features that most people want... a phone highly recommended when i worked a phone store..

It's a great phone. good camera 2mp, good sound, great big screen :D anybody knows to make photo with the front camera? and.. i've downloaded a few themes from internet and, while applying, it says: Not enough memory. without applying the theme :|

Nice phone. Cute and elegant looking. Mine is black but i have a problem using the video call even there is a 3G signal. But the camera is ok.

Hi. I had this phone for one month now. It was my very first camera phone; it has 3G. The glossy finish and design is nice. I bought it for 295 dollars or 14,500 pesos in the Philippines. Unfortunately, it was a fingerprint and srcatch magnet. The sliding mechanism is a little bit loose after 3 weeks, but it didn't become worse. I got used to it, and anyway it wasn't bad at all. It has a large screen. It came with a 512 memory card in the package.
The camera (has flash, zoom, white balance, and effects) is satisfactory in dim light, but it's excellent in high light conditions. The video also is satisfactory. The speaker is a bit good.
I love this phone! Hahaha. It has all the features except that it doesn't have WLAN. Until now, I'm enjoying using this phone, especially taking pictures.

Wow got few comment here about limited phone contact. The truth is you should do some research before buying this phone. The specs already mention 50 0 contact only. I suggest anyone that needs more than 500 contact to get phone like samsung. Even entry model like x200 can store 1000 name. For our friend that require symbian slider phone should get something else like n80, e65 or to the extreme n95 but their price are almost double/x4 to 6288. For me i don't need smartphone fxn as i already have palm tx for wifi, office doc, etc.

its pretty cool phone with sleek lines and elegant design. its the limited internal memory that bothers me though.also, what worries me is the sliding function that might loosen after some time. more importantly this phone is very functional with a very good screen that pales in comparison with n70. i wish that the front camera can work apart from being used for video call.

mine is black, nice looking, though limited contacts made me upset 1st..if u put memory card as video storage, u might as well get the most of possible length of video clip. I put 512 MB in mine, 100 MB for mp3, and the length indicator gives more than 2 hours of video...it's quite fast in messaging function, unlike my prev N70...great pal for me so far...

I just got my black beauty of 6288. But the funny thing is that the phone could not vibrate, or anyone of you would know how to do that? the settings are correct and all, probably the theme or I could have missed something? please advise.. you can e-mail me at absolute.subliminal@yahoo.com. Thanks

Just bought the phone yesterday, a glossy black one. My first Nokia ever. My previous phone is Alcatel S853 which is still in full working condition but the battery has gone very low and only last for less than one day with low usage. I just can't get new battery anywhere in Malaysia. Of course for an Alcatel user for past 6 years, (OT303/501/735/S853) I missed the simpler kind of menu in Alcatel phone. What I missed the most is of course the way Alcatel phone handle contact group that includes sim & phone contact at the same time ,in horizontal way. You can easily access both number in sim & phone this way.
6288 handle contact group just like other phone maker like SE/ Samsung (i.e the vertical way). Other reason why I bought new phone- need a 3G phone.
6288 is a Nokia mid class phone with a functionality like higher class phone such as SE W850. I also have W850 for comparison(in use by my wife). Paper specs they are almost identical but the first impression when you put the 2 phone side by side is the superior quality of 6288 screen. The screen is wider, more colorful, brighter, less pix elated than SE w850. Nokia 6288 also wider than w850 in dimension. Other plus for 6288- superior voice dial which doesn't need any training/ voice tag beforehand. Just long press the right soft key and say any name that listed in the phone book.6288 will automatically find the name and dial it for you( it worked almost 70-80% for me). Of course the SE W850 voice dial is still working the old fashion way. The D-pad + keypad in 6288 is much comfortable to work with. As you already know
the D-pad in W850 has one of the most unfriendly design for a modern mobile phone.
The downside- ultra low internal memory. My 6288 came with only 2.5mb left in internal memory. But the good side it use a relatively cheap MiniSD, mine only came with 64mb card , but I already have 512mb card from my previous phone Alcatel S853, just reformat and it is ready for use. Don't worry about the low internal memory, big file transfer like mp3 will directly save to the memory card. Other problem like poorer quality of still camera as compared to w850.A VGA video resolution is a big win for 6288,w850 still using 176x144 pixel resolution. Overall build quality, w850 is slightly better- 6288 slider mechanism is a bit loose and can easily slide up accidentally in your pocket. The all round glossy surface is a finger print + scratch magnet. Make sure you get a crystal casing to protect the very nice housing. A housing replacement can be very expensive(only original will fit well).
Bottom line- the best phone ever for me in 6 years. Very stable software, very sleek design, very reasonable price(~234USD vs ~342USD for W850)).

I hate it because now I have to buy another cellphone with better memory capacity...
