if it is based on the 6280, it's bugged. my old 6280 frquently restarts when playing mp3's and I also need to restart it frequently because it loses signal reception. I upgraded to N73 and i've never been happier.

1. The pcitures could be zoomed while displaying them.
2. Using the software recieved when purchasing the phone, NO.
3. Could be wathced movies in the 3gp and mp4 format. Other I didn't tried.

Amanda & Tessy: The backlight timeframe cannot be customized for Nokia 6288.

Please can someone tell me how to keep the backlight on for longer....as as long as 2mins or more. Please i'd really like to know cos i'm having real issues with this.
Also, the volume is a little bit faint when i'm on a call and i wondering if it's a fault on my phone or a if that is the way the fone was manufactured. Please email me on textra30@yahoo.com if you have the answer. Thanks.

its a very good fone. the other are just lays , this is a great fone the slide is perfect no problem with the fone if someone wants to buy a fone between samsung D900 or nokia 6288 go for the nokia 6288 because this fone is just geat no fone can beat this it has all the features in it like D900 does not have FM radio,memory card,infared port,HSCSD,3G,EDGE.JUST the camera is powerfull one pic takes 950kb space thats why the memery is full clearly.the hole moblie can take 150 photos and 1 hour flim but 6288 cantains all feaures and takes 1000 photos and 3hours 30min video.i am using this mobile sceens last year 2006 1 august.

Can I still use the "ABC" function in the TO: field in the create message menu? I used to do this in my 3230 wherein i just type in the 1st 4 letters of my contact's name then the fone just autofills it when i send the message. Thanks

This Nokia 6288 is great! I try one in a mobile store, i like it. But I think about that is a good choise to buy it... and I have 3 questions:
1. When I look at some pictures, can I zoom into them?
2. Is there any way to open .doc files or any text files?
3. Can I watch movies ot this Nokia? It's be pity to can't, because this QVGA is so hude and brilliant ;) ?

i myself working in a mobile phone shop..
i've tried the N6288 b4..
but izzit true that the front camera can be used to take normal pict (not just in video conferencing)?
if yes, can anyone teach me how to use it?

i might presume that if 6280 and 6288 use exactly the same firmware, and since 6280 cant play wma files, then neither can 6288. but i would like a confirmation thanks

thanks, but the manual is not clear. for eg 6233 supports wma but the manual did not mention it at all

Break off the whole backside gently, but strongly. Use your nails from behind the powerbutton on top.
I also was lost in the beginning.

I'm not sure if the wma audio format is supported in N6288. Please check the included manual in the unit package.
